Really fun

Nah

I've played through this game about 10 times total across PC and console. It's more like an interactive story than a game. You move your character around and make decisions on dialogue. Based on your decisions, the story changes. It's a mysterious and slightly spooky story. I wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone that enjoys interesting stories.

A lot of fun, but sort of gets repetitive.

Frequently crashes and all my saves corrupted after 8 hours of play. I have very much enjoyed the Metro series in the past but this game is not worth the hassle in its current state.

If you search online, other people are also experiencing these issues. I don't know if the issues are purely software related or if hardware is involved, but I've listed my specs just in case.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3800x
RAM: 32GB Crucial Ballistix
GPU: Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ 8GB

EDIT: I managed to recover my "corrupted" saved games by copying the entire directory located at C:\Users\"MyUsername"\Saved Games\metro exodus\"String of Numbers" and pasting it to a different location for the meantime.

I then deleted the original directory and started the game.
When the game opened, I selected new game. As soon as the loading screen was through, I checked that a new autosave had been created by selecting the "load" option in the pause menu. After confiming a new autosave had been created, I exited the game.

I then navigated to the copy of the directory I had created and copied the contents of the directory, not the directory itself, and pasted all of it into the new directory that the game had created at C:\Users\"MyUsername"\Saved Games\metro exodus\"String of Numbers".

I don't know if this will work for anyone else, but it worked for me. Still don't recommend the game.

Pretty decent to practice touch typing. I purchased the game to practice a new keyboard layout I was trying out and I believe this game is what allowed me to actually learn the layout.

The mechanics of playing this game are pretty interesting and they are definitely unique. It was definitely a challenge to get used to controlling both brothers independently, but once you get used to the controls it becomes almost second nature. The game is fairly short. I beat it in about three hours and spent a lot of time checking out the views and looking for the small extra things hidden throughout the game. I love that this game tells a story without ever actually speaking anything to you, similar to the Lego games. There is no actual language, but the characters still get their point across. However, in this game the story isn't one you already know and it's the story that really makes this game.
