Nice weekend distraction. Enjoyed the characters, story, art, world, etc. The end of it was a bit annoying, wasn't sure what the hell was going on with my ships, so felt let down.

I think this game is criminally under-priced / undervalued. It's possibly the only EA game I've regularly enjoyed match after match, for years(?) now.

Pros:

- It isn't trying to be a GPU superstar, so you can build quite nice, large communities, that look pretty, and it still runs at a high framerate (unlike say, endzone).
- The core mechanics are pretty easy to wrap your head around, and you genuinely feel you are in control of managing them.
- It's very cute looking
- It's emotionally satisfying dealing with the vikings / dragons, and trying to optimize your fort.
- It's absolutely repayable every single time.
- You can build weird fortress outposts that are just there to decimate the enemy on its pathing routine.
- They added hostile wolves, for no real bloody reason, other than it's great. They need more of those kinds of things.

Cons:

- Dumb you can't throttle over producing industries other than finding them all, clicking on the building, then disabling it. Setting resource limits on each storage pile is tedious.
- The Merchant sound effect is terrible and auto sale doesn't work, so it's just too tedious to even use.
- The dragons should be smarter.
- The worker management UX (actually all the UX) needs to be way more sophisticated, dragging around priorities is fine, but it should at least have a fuzzy finder?
- Some of the audio samples are tedious as ♥♥♥♥ if you have your camera rested over an area for ages waiting for something.

Anyway, love the game, it's deeply emotionally rewarding.

Please introduce some kind of region control, since I usually end up with multiple forts, not just one big one.

Big fan of cyberpunk. Like a good story. The writing in Cloudpunk was enjoyable, bordering on being a bit too contemporary (for me), but it was overall well thought out and engaging.

The game is beautiful and pensive.

At first I was concerned Cloudpunk was developing into a lot of fetch quests then a loot grinding hellscape, this never really eventuated and I should have relaxed. The level design once I got my head around it was solid. I appreciated that it did not have particularly demanding game play mechanics.

In summary, it was perfect for this cold rainy winter here, and I'm glad I purchased it.

I really want to like this game. Problem is- it's not a game. It's a pretty, part rich martian Lego set. You're left wondering what on earth there is to compel you to go on.

I'm a pretty avid player of open ended builders and sims, it's not that I'm lacking imagination, it's that the game doesn't really even provide you a way to meaningfully do your own thing. For example- in Dwarf Fortress or Planet Coaster if you set yourself a project, it can be both fun and engaging for dozens of hours. This never feels like that, even with the new terrain manipulation.

Unfortunately at this time I can't recommend you pick it up. Even on sale, you need some of the DLC, and even then it's missing something that makes it fun.

There is nothing quite like the smell of a clean rebreather as you drive your space tractor over kilometers of carefully constructed roadway into the sunrise of an alien world. I have enjoyed about a dozen new [solo] games of Astroneer since I first backed it in EA. Sure, eventually the content runs out of steam, but you can have a great time getting to that point.

Can't believe I pissed around with the other Dungeon keeper-likes out there for so long! Dungeons 3 has... God awful story. Great voice acting. Great Dungeon management. Entertaining combat. and as a bonus prize it oozes loving care and is well polished.
