If you're looking for a triple-A title that is on discount for only five dollars, then this is the game for you.

You clearly have a poor grasp of risk assessment, cost vs benefit analysis and a history of making terrible choices.

Oxygen Not Included lets you make terrible choices. It lets you make them quickly and it lets you make them slowly.

Oh, you'll just build flush toilets, wont that be nice? Wrong. It wont be nice, it'll be another way to fail.

I recommend this game if you are the d♥ckhead that has to push the button, because you know you know better.

Everyone else should go play whatever two hundred developer trash is fashionable and on sale.

Launched the game. Spent ages ignorantly mining for minerals. Assembled something like a hovel. A techno-hovel.

Built a vehicle. It was terrible; bad center of gravity, bad design, flipped, rolled, got stuck. Started gathering resources at a faster rate.

Built a second vehicle. It was terrible; too slow, got stuck, flipped. Was a bit better though. Resource rate went up further.

Built my third vehicle. It was fast, it had a high wheel base, it never flipped.

Drove straight to the north pole.

An hour or so later, I was dying from cold and toxins on the edge of a mountain at the magnetic north. I managed to survive, headed for home, heavily laden with precious metals and optimism.

On the way back I discovered a beautiful hidden valley amongst the cold and ice. Decided this would be my new home.

Upon my return to home base I refueled my scout vehicle, manufactured supplies, upgraded my equipment. It was time; I proceeded to carefully plot out the ideal route to the valley for a very heavy vehicle. Using my scout car I carefully placed a dozen solar way-beacons along the ideal route. I couldn’t risk any flipping or forced abandoning for what would come next.

This was the biggest vehicle yet- ten wheels, four for steering, a massive container for all my worldly goods. Over two stories in height, she was huge. I Disassembled my sprawling base, all my items. Apprehensively I even tore apart my trusty scout car.

Everything was loaded into this one giant vehicle.

I have about an hour of frustration and driving ahead of me, I will get back to that valley and start my new life.

Recommended for people with imagination, people that like to build things and people that want to support growing projects.

I sat with this on my watch list for weeks. I wanted Aven Colony in my life. Astroneer, Planetbase, Spacebase DF9, all had tormented me some way or another.

I was crestfallen to see the wave of negative reviews. It was a big decision. What if it's no good, what if it's riddled with bugs, what if it's abandoned by the developers.

It was against my rules to early adopt, a sucker paying to beta test. I told myself I should hold off another month or so.

BUT. IT. IS. SCIFI. BASE. BUILDING.

♥♥♥♥ that. I tapped in my CSC. Took a deep draught of my tea and filled my disk.

No regrets, am just over half way through the campaign. It's base building. It's well made. I've drunk a lot of tea since I first opened it.

Best oculus rift experience I've had so far.

Well thought out game. It's fun to strip bare computations we take for granted. Learned a bit about sorting optimizations and why loops work the way they do. Felt like a tiny lesson in computing history. Had some minor UI gripes, but that did not stop me finishing this game including almost all optimizations in only a couple of days. 9.5/10.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ excellent. Rugged Vehicles [x] Awesome fluid simulation [x] Wilderness [x] Hilarious multiplayer experiences [x]. It's only missing dinosaurs.
