Not nearly as bad as all these reviews are saying. Combat's the same as usual for COD, very enjoyable and addictive. You're not forced to use microtransactions to progress, but they are pushed in your face all the time. Graphics are alright.

i didn't even want to play this at first, because my fully modded original Skyrim seemed to be doing just fine, but fully modded Skyrim SE is like, WORLDS better. Now that the SE modding community has a ton of mods available, (not quite as vast of a collection as original Skyrim yet,) you're able to really push your PC to its limits. With ENBs and graphics mods, i've got all kinds of lag and graphical issues in-game and it's just awesome. I really missed this. Another 84+ hours of gameplay thanks to Skyrim SE.

TL;DR: The game is incredible, very cinematic and horrifying. But I finished it all at once, and for me, there isn't much replayability. I wouldn't say it's worth $60 unless you've bought it for the PS4 (because I would absolutely do a second playthrough if I were able to play it on virtual reality.)
But it deserves more praise than Dead Rising 4, which I loved, but Dead Rising 4's campaign lasted like 5 hours max.

Pros:
As for actual gameplay and stuff, it's just plain good. It's a lot like Outlast without the running/"parkour". The atmosphere drives me insane, it's so good that the game doesn't rely on jump scares. Hearing footsteps near you is enough to make you want to turn your computer off and watch some Netflix.
The boss fights are EPIC. Seriously, they're climactic, exciting, scary, and smooth every time. The pacing of the game is just right, you've got boring puzzles and scrounging for ammo and keys, but only for a few minutes before exciting stuff happens.
Also, ever since the movie Sinister, I'm a huge fan of "found footage" horror. VHS tapes really freak me out.

Cons:
The extremely short gameplay of course.
Besides that, I don't really like puzzles and scrounging in horror games, it makes me way too aware that it's just FILLER. But that's just my opinion, I know it's the way the game is designed; to have a certain amount of time that you feel safe before you're blasted with enemies and terror. I only wish there was something more. This game delivers on so many levels, but my final summation of it would be "Explore house, solve puzzles, boss fights."

Lastly, I don't see much replayability in this. Different difficulty modes will provide some people with more hours, but I've come to the realization that higher difficulties merely make things more tedious and it's hard for me to really enjoy repetition like that.

Worth it. I see people in their reviews debating whether it's worth the money spent on it, and IMHO that depends on how much money you have to spend, how much your time seems to be worth, and how much value you'd get out of a beautiful masterpiece. I've completed the game in under 4 hours, but I'm completely satisfied. I think the price is debatably high, but I don't regret it one bit. I also don't plan on playing this game again... It doesn't seem to have replay value. But Limbo was the same way, both games are top notch however. This one is much better than Limbo, while Limbo is an instant classic that will never be forgotten, Inside blossoms and turns into something even greater and more memorable.

My recommendation is to *not* read a lot of reviews lest you accidentally reveal a major plot point like I did. Allow yourself to be surprised, just get this game. It's incredible.

*(Seriously, reader be warned, lots of the reviews here hint, or at least imply and foreshadow a lot of interesting things about the game. I read far too many comments before buying and ended up knowing exactly what to expect in relation to the unique atmosphere and story of the game.)*

I'd like to start off by saying I think a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" rating system is literally cancer, it's why I don't trust ratings from Rotten Tomatoes, Youtube, or other sites that use it.

Anyways, I rate this game about 3/5, (but I have to give it a "thumbs down" because this rating system is ♥♥♥♥, and you have to choose "DHURR I LOVED IT 10/10 #BESTGAME" or "I FREAKING HATED IT, WOULD NOT RECCOMEND")

This game is great for a lot of reasons, and I love it for those reasons. Similar to Skyrim, the combat itself is a massive improvement from the previous game. But similar to things like levitation in Oblivion, and Acrobatics and Athletics in Skyrim, they've stripped away things that I loved about the previous games. Another comparison I'd make is that in Oblivion, you're "random guy in prison #324" but you slowly become a hero that fulfills some sort of prophecy. In Skyrim, you're born the chosen one, just as in Fallout 4, you're just rambling through the destiny Bethesda's created for you.

I really like being just a random Joe that stumbles upon greatness. Not shuffling my feet through an automated story about finding my son (which is surprisingly emotionless almost all the way through, except for the voice acting)

In Fallout 3, you're just an escaped vault dweller, whose dad is a scientist. In Fallout 4, you're stuck looking for your son, because you're sexual orientation is chosen for you, your backstory has already been developed, and you don't get to choose a single element of the story for yourself. As others have already said, many RPG elements of Fallout have been removed in Fallout 4. I LOVE numbers, and I love choosing stats when I level up, I thought Fallout 3 and New Vegas had an incredibly good system for that. But Bethesda doesn't think so, they simplified it into 4 choices, and many have already made this joke, but it's so sad and so true. Your four options are the following:
"Yes"
"(Sarcastic)Yes"
"(Rude)Yes"
"(Bribe)" or intimidate, etc.

There's not many choices in Fallout 4, and there's no Karma. They took the things unique and interesting about 3 and New Vegas, and threw them in the trash, to simplify, reach a wider audience (kids) and make $$$.

One last comparison I'd like to make is that the "soul" is being stripped away from Bethesda's new games. The quests and side quests lack the writing and unique, fun, interesting filler that kept Oblivion and Fallout 3 alive. The NPCs in Fallout 4 are fairly boring, the side quests are also pretty lackluster. No emotion.

It's not the worst thing ever. I'm not really sure why I bought it. The graphics are really, really bad, unless it's from like 2005 or something and it just doesn't say that on the store page. The voice acting is okay but there's literally no story, and then there's a little story sometimes, but it all feels out of place and strange. Not the best experience.

Love it! The story is amazing, graphics are good ('specially compared to the first Bioshock!), controls and combat are pristine.

Multiplayer is still somewhat alive! There seems to be quite a few people who play every day, and there are times of day when you'll get to try it out; around 6pm or later. It was always my favorite FPS multiplayer, but the xbox Bioshock 2 community died out a long time ago so it's nice to see people still play it on the PC. What's cool about the pvp is that you can type to people while you kill 'em, so there's a good, nice, hopeful community playing the game, we hope the community grows but it's definitely an older game. I've been playing multiplayer every day for the past week or so, and I rarely have to sit and wait for a game.

The PvP is awesome. Out of all the shooters I've played, it's my favorite. Everyone has a pretty good amount of health so it's not just 1shot vs 1shot hiding around a corner camping; it's different. I mean, there's still 1shot combos and stuff but not everyone has perfected that so it's pretty fair. Wielding plasmids and shooting lightning bolts and crossbows, and turning invisible are the coolest things ever.

It was difficult to set the controls for an Xbox controller, if anyone has any questions (how to edit the sensitivity of an xbox controller for multiplayer) just message me.

Edit: the PvP community isn't as good as I thought lmao, I keep trying to play; I try once every few weeks, but everyone's adopted the Grenade Launcher strategy; it's a 1shot kill basically, it's overpowered and everyone kind of hates it. I haven't been able to progress much in PvP. I really miss the old xbox days when there were a lot of people playing every day. Now all I see are the same people using the same 1shot strategies over and over. Stun + crossbow = instant 1shot. grenade launcher = stun/disorient/1shot/range, and if you suicide yourself with the grenade launcher, the other team doesn't get a kill, and there's no penalty. You can stand outside a room and fling grenades into the room and get multiple kills without even aiming or trying. That's what PvP is right now basically, I wish there was a game mode that doubled the health of players, just so it isn't 1shots, but requires slightly more strategy than Electro Bolt / Crossbow, which barely requires aiming skill
