I played IdleOn for three years, and loved it. I survived the gatcha doot pet drama, the sailing fiaso and various other community dramas. The second Lava added a cookie clicker mechanic (the owl guy) I quit because this kind of thing gives me FOMO/OCD about checking and playing obsessively. The most recent update adds a similar mechanic, so if you're like me, steer clear. If you like those kind of mechanics, the game has a lot to offer besides that. In the end I'll enjoy getting an hour or two back each day.

Great game if you're under 40. If you're an old person, with ♥♥♥♥ reaction time, and not a ton of time, save your hours for a game like Elden Ring with a more integrated non-git-gud progression system.

Too hard. Game is tuned for expert level players and cheesing it with XP is incredibly painstaking. There's built-in cheat mode, which I think is crappy design.

A pretty good spin on the 2D Dark Souls / Hollow Knight sub-genre. Very melancholic and good choices for the color palate. Would recommend.

Totally killer soundtrack with an engaging puzzle game. Loved the creativity and the obvious passion of the design team. If you enjoy this kind of investigative open-world style game give it a try. Or just get the soundtrack.

A really unique deckbuilder roguelite. Your choices control NPCs life, love and death. As you work through the story you upgrade your two decks and your cards and find yourself making difficult decisions about who to ally with and what to upgrade. I've been looking for a more progression-oriented roguelite for some time and a deckbuilder makes a great vehicle. One criticism is that the synergy possibilities seem very focused right now. I also sometimes don't want to play because I'm worried about losing my character.

Only four hours so far, will revisit this review later if my opinion changes.

The *only* game I can play with my girlfriend. It's brought us lots of laughs, tears, and snarky comments that lead to small fights. So far no major fights. It's just a great game. Multiplayer only.

Another successful entry in the Ori franchise. They really knocked the atmosphere into the stratosphere with this one. I just loved the feel of the game. The characters were super cute and the giant monsters were great. A few nit-picks: the combat was way too easy. I'm a legit bad player and I didn't die once to any combat shrines. There was one hard escape and a couple hard time trials. Apart from that the game was too easy compared to the first game. Anyway still an easy recommendation.

The devs deserve a warm pat on the back for putting this fine little game together. The family-based story given warmth by the narration and writing combined with the Issac-like roguelite gameplay formed a pretty compelling 10-12 hour playthough. The different characters and their skills gave a good bit of variety.

I played by myself. Would have been more fun as a pair. Definitely some of the characters were harder to solo with. The difficulty was a bit uneven. That's somewhat part and parcel with randomized gameplay.

Anyway, pick this up if you like isometric style roguelites and don't mind a nice old family values tale.
