The game was not very fun at all, it's exactly what the name says until you reach the very bottom and then the genre changes from a digging game to a poorly done horror stealth game with an extremely anticlimactic ending that took me just over an hour to complete the whole game.
Will definitely be getting a refund.

Bad enemy hit boxes when switching between old and new style, and a bad semi game breaking bug when you have infinite lives turned on.
The bug will get you stuck in an infinite death loop in the desert zone if you get hit by a cactus.
If you happen to have defeated a previous cactus and get killed by the next one, you will re-spawn directly on top of the previous cactus you defeated.
This bug forces you to quit to the main menu which obviously means you lose your whole progress in that level.

That all being said, I would still recommend the game because it is genuinely fun, a little tough and unforgiving sometimes, but nevertheless still fun.

Credit where it's due though:
Obviously the game is fun and always has been to me personally.
The old style is exactly as I remember from back in the day and the new style has a very aesthetically pleasing spin that sticks closely to the original.
The music in the new style is very well done and nicely pays homage to the original sounds.

It's a fun game but can become very, very grindy, very quickly to the point that I would consider it to be hyper grindy.
It's a reasonably polished game but still has a fair few of bugs, some of which are literally "Quest Breaking" bugs.
The outfits, skins etc literally cost more than IRL clothing for example 1 set of a particular costume costs almost $60.
The community can be extremely hyper toxic and will literally falsely report players for "Hacking" and will get you banned just for accidentally "taking someones spot" at the "Hotpot Tables" which is basically like Mahjong meets Go Fish.
If you're new to the game and trying to figure all of this out and accidentally P155 somebody off while trying to figure it out and they falsely report you multiple times for "Hacking", then your account is most likely going to get banned which then just ruins the fun of the game.
The company did a massive layoff of it's employees in preparation for an acquisition.
And last but definitely not least, the company has just been acquired by Daybreak Games which pretty much just spells the death of this game before it even got the chance to come out of Early Access and will probably be dead in less than a year.

A great, fun little brain teaser of a puzzle that doesn't last too long and isn't too overly complicated.

One of the best games I have played in the last 10 years.
Good linear based story games are getting harder to find, yes it's somewhat open world with side missions but there is a linear story and it is a very good one.

The game used to be good.
However!!!
After everything I have seen about the employees/devs abusing their power in game, mass banning people that post negative reviews or kick their butts in game, straight up deleting negative reviews and posts, along with using bot accounts to bump their recent reviews rating on Steam back up from Mixed to Mostly positive, I just can't recommend this game anymore.
I will NOT be changing my review until the devs fix these issues internally, make full public announcements acknowledging these facts and then actually show progress towards undoing this SH** STORM they have created for themselves.

Such a fun game, I love it so far.

Big Chungmongus

The game seems like it could have been good if it wasn't for the extremely poorly optimisation and it just feels like a terrible console port.
I have an i7-8700K on watercooling, a GTX 1080ti as my main GPU, a GTX 1060 6gb as dedicated PhysX and 32GB RAM @3000Mhz and I get less than 20/fps with the max being 25/fps.
I had to stop playing in less than 30 mins because the poor frame rates were giving me motion sickness.

I am literally not joking when I say that this is by far the best open world game with a Linear story that I have played since the Fallout series.
