Pepper Grinder is a platformer built around leaping in and out of the ground using a speedy drill. The physics of momentum and angles are satisfying to learn, although occasionally finicky to manipulate. The presentation is colorful, detailed, and evocative, with excellent music to match. The bosses are largely successful and test the player's drilling techniques in creative ways. There also a lot of bonus content to engage with, such as time trials, secret challenges, and gacha collectibles. Overall this is a really fun execution of a strong concept that doesn't outstay its welcome.
