Fun and Painful

Absolute masterpiece.

A worthy successor to CKII. Looking forward to future expansions that build upon the solid base game.

Devs did a great job polishing an already good experience.

And the world never saw anything like it again.

As with all Paradox games the DLC is mandatory but the endless hours of entertainment makes the cost worth every cent.



But wait for a sale.

If you aren't familiar with Paradox strategies this may not be the greatest starting point but after putting hundreds to thousands of hours in CK2s sibling games I can safely say this is my favorite with EU4 trailing closely behind. The incredible amount of depth and role-playing possibilities built off of great mechanics make every playthrough a distinct and memorable adventure. Not to mention you can convert your save and continue your adventure through the rest of Paradox's covered time-periods. My only complaint is the DLC is MANDATORY but the immense amount of time you'll get out of this game make it a cheap trade. They really should just sell it only as a full package by this point though.
