Even in beta, it surpasses all the other action-strategic multiplayer games out there. The game is rapidly approaching perfection, but the community is a little deranged; I recommend always playing with at least two friends. And if you're a newbie and just starting out, please play against the bots until you have an understanding of basic concepts such as last hits, map awareness, and the purpose of items and skills.
