Played POE on and off for years, played every other ARPG out there.
Grew up on Diablo and Diablo 2.

It's pretty good IMO.
I like the slower pace, more methodical game-play.

Needs some tweak, but is gonna be good once they let it cook.

Update: They are already greatly improving the game with updates, game is even more fun.

A Tentative YES Recommendation

I'm currently enjoying the game, but it clearly needs more development time to reach its full potential.

The Good:

- It's fun enough to keep me engaged, despite its flaws.
- Modding support is already growing, with user-made mods addressing various issues.
- The developers have promised to release a modding SDK, which could significantly improve the game and help it meet
the expectations of its audience.

The Bad:

- Buggy Gameplay: Numerous bugs affect the experience.
- Underwhelming A-Life System: The developers claim it's bugged, but as it stands, it feels like "A-Life" in name only.
- Optimization Issues: The game runs poorly, with Unreal Engine 5 being a known CPU hog.
- Scripted Content Limitations: Many POIs lack meaningful interaction until specific NPC-triggered
tasks unlock them.

Despite these issues, the core gameplay is more fun than frustrating. While I was initially hesitant to recommend it, the modding community and developer promises make me hopeful for its future.

Damn fun game, awesome fights, cool story. Might be my GOTY.

It's a good game.

Bungie has gone full kotick, don't feed them any more money. they are robbing you blind if you give them and money.

This game will never leave early access, it will never release with all the features they promised. Take 2 is a blight on video games.

This should be labeled as an early access game, as that is clearly what it is. Do that and most of the negative reviews wouldn't exist.

I received this game as a gift, I still feel like I was ripped off. It's sad to see what has happened with the battlefield franchise.

As of this review update #3 has launched and with it a plethora of new bugs have been added. I can't connect to a match any more and am being thrown back to the main menu. Others that are able to get into games can't look left or right, and you have a dev asking what mice people are using (Which shouldn't matter, 95%+ of mice use the standardized drivers).

Console players can see the pre-season skin content that is being added. While personally I don't mind cosmetic skins, it is quite jarring to see a Santa Claus wielding a gun in battlefield.

None of the "Legacy" features have been returned to game yet (Scoreboard, Voice-chat, Squad management, etc.)

I don't even want to get into the issues with the specialist system and the lack of classes, it goes against core design of the battlefield series.

I have nothing to say about Hazard zone as I have never even tried it, and I have no interest in it anyway as I own Hunt: Showdown and Escape from Tarkov.

Portal was fun for an hour, until I started noticing that the same limitations that exist in the standard 2042 experience are present in Portal as well. It also has some of its own unique bugs too.

Hopefully Dice can fix all the issues I've griped about, and any issues I didn't mention as well.

7/25/2023 EDIT 2: Game probably still sucks, but I'm just updating to say buy Battle Bit: Remastered it is the replacement for the battlefield series

Great Game, always fun to come back to whenever there is a new update. great for creative building and also fun to progress and defeat bosses, craft new items, and explore biomes.
