By far the best game I have played in possibly my entire life.

I'd say turned based strategy games have never been my thing. I could never get into XCOM so the game had that against it when it came to me. That being said, they nailed the combat. Thought provoking choices during battles made it feel like chess.

I genuinely don't understand any hate this game gets. If you don't want to romance a character you say no. The characters move on from it and that's the end of that. My wife and I played for close to 110 hours before finally beating the game. We uncovered as much as we could, took it all in. Every milestone felt the season finale of a great show. As I watched the end credits it felt like the series finale of a IP I had loved for years, although I had never touched the series until the official release of BG3.

I can see how people don't like the last portion of the game but I think those feelings are misplaced. The game forces you into these interactions early to establish the world and characters. The end lets you take the information you have and choose to go in any direction you'd like. Your choices Web outwards and the funnel widens. I must admit it was overwhelming coming to the city for the first time. I realized that we would go and do as much as we could before the final battle. This led to some overlap of dialog and most of the time conversation options could allow us to inform characters of the tasks we did while they weren't looking. The game might know that we killed a certain bad actor but that doesn't mean all the city knows what we did or even our entire party. Communication is key and I'm glad they added dialog to get some other parts of the story rounded off for our companions that couldn't attend events. They really thought of just about everything.

I'd like to thank everyone who worked on it and it felt like a masterpiece. I felt the passion. I felt the weight of my choices meaning something. This is a game that should be remembered forever. Thank you to everyone who played even the smallest part in making this game a reality.

There's just something magical about this game. It's very introspective and gives me a feeling that no other game has given me before. It really makes you think about what you're doing even though the game claims you have no control on the outcome. Lots of jokes on itself, it's a great.
