I don't write reviews. I can't be arsed to learn how to write reviews. So here's a personal write-up from someone who's spent 1300 hours playing this game over the course of a single year, experiencing it at one of its most tumultuous moments. Spoilers for what you can expect from the narrative, but the major twists have been hidden. Don't click the link at the end if you haven't played through the entirety yet.

After the disappointment that was Lightfall, I had really high expectations, bordering on demands, coming into The Final Shape. Yet... it was everything I asked for, and so much more. I've been having an absolute blast every single day since release. The campaign is an insane package of fun AND challenging gameplay, stunning artistic vision and environment design, and a narrative that finally addresses the true nature of the Witness, Light and Dark, and the struggles of the Vanguard - letting them grow as people. I love the banter between our main cast, and how natural it comes off. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love the Pale Heart and how much there was/is to do within it. Prismatic surprised me very positively, I did not expect myself to enjoy it as much as I do.

Then the final mission broke me. My boyfriend and I got on in the evening, started by completing Wild Card, and went on to finish it all. We yelled out in joy, cried for Ghost , wept for Cayde , then just… stared, speechless. We sat here [i.postimg.cc] for what felt like an hour before either of us spoke up again. ♥♥♥♥, what a way to end a 10-year saga. Thank you all for the memories. Here’s to many more.

TL;DR I giggled and cried like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ baby at digital pixels, and you will too. If you've played Destiny for any extended period of time, this DLC IS worth your money and time. Consider buying it, even through your jaded cynicism.
