Great story and hands down the best dialogue of any game I've played - by a mile.

Absolute masterpiece. There are so many layers to this game, plenty of breadcrumbs to reach those layers, and chill puzzle vibes. If you don't bounce off in the first few hours, you'll end up loving this game too.

Too buggy to finish; too much play time to refund.

The bugs:
I'm writing this after losing several hours of gameplay again. Saving is a game mechanic in KCD and extremely limited as to when you can do it. The game is also very buggy and crashy. If you play without cheating, you may go several hours without being able to save. If your game crashes in that time, well you're SOL. Occasionally one of your very few save files will become corrupted, and again you may losing several hours of gameplay when reverting to another save.

On the less game breaking side: Events don't always trigger. People and creatures sink into the ground. Dead animals revert to their bind pose after being killed. And on and on.

The gameplay:
This game desperately wants to be a AAA game, but the polish simply isn't there. Pretty much every mechanic feels clunky. Tool tips and tutorials are awkward when they exist at all.

Pickpocketing and lock picking are the most ridiculous mini games I've seen in a long time Pickpocketing especially - initially you feel out the target's pockets for as long as you dare. You'll get caught after a certain random period of time (100% RNG based). You're not doing anything at this point except buying time for later. If the RNG isn't in your favor, you'll be instantly caught and the consequences are severe enough that you'll probably want to load. Except you probably can't load at this point to try again because the last time you were allowed to save was more than a half hour ago.

I hope this game will be ready for public consumption someday. It's not even close right now though.

Daggerfall set a pretty high bar for bugginess two decades ago and Skyrim SE finally gives it a run for its money.

Lots of fun, but plenty of issues.

First the good:
* Rich world and great atmosphere.
* The combat is fun, though a bit repetitive. For an RPG, this game is on the short side, which is probably just the right length to prevent things from getting too repetitive.
* Good story. Some parts are amazing. Some parts are just OK. I think it averages out to good.

Now the bad:
* More than two years after release, there are still some glaring typos in plot necessary dialogues (such as extraneous words that clearly don't belong).
* Movement is often awkward and slow. After finishing an area, you'll stay in turn based combat mode; this kills a bit of the fun of exploring a floor you've cleared.
* Very linear. I found two side missions which were both very short.
* Terrible point-and-click targeting. I found myself walking past targets I meant to attack and unable to move to squares behind allies simply due to not being able to target the right square or creatures.

Overall, the good outweighs the bad. It's worth a play and will probably take you about 15 hours at a leisurely pace.

Hands down, the best VR game I've ever played. It's pretty good in 2D as well.

Great game, though it lacks some variety. Despite having very few enemey types, it's addicting and enjoyable. I sank many hours into this game without realizing it and still had the itch to play more after finishing it.

Interesting game with an awesome quirky sense of humor.

This is a very short game, but well worh it. The few levels that it has are packed wth content and some of the best dialogue I've ever enjoyed. A++++++ would Jazzpunk again.
