I'm outside a deli in the rain, it's soaking wet and I'm starving. The case has gone cold with the elimination of my primary suspect, so now I'm breaking into the victim's workplace to see if there's any matching fingerprints on file. It's always someone you know.

The city is filled with people, and the people are filled with darkness. The lashing rain beats down on me as I work the lockpick around in door. Nobody passing on the street stops to ask what I'm doing. Inside the back room, I pull every employee file, cross referencing them with the prints I've collected at the scene, but there's no match.

Back out in the rain, on the street, people gawk as they pass by. I can't read their faces. They all look guilty.

Every picture you put into it becomes somehow significant.
Your choices matter.

worked all day and night breaking rocks to afford food, only to get robbed, beaten, and dismembered by a passing gang of cannibals. Saved from the brink of death by slavers, press ganged into breaking more rocks, but hey, at least the food was free now.

halo guns, almost tribes movement, portals you can shoot through.

varied gamemodes, relatively nontoxic community, even among the sweaty players

this makes all the good FPS noises, and is quick to pick up for a couple rounds without a serious investment of your hour.
