This game is great for new players starting in by having simple inputs.
This game also has a high skill cap as well complimenting both sides.
Let's talk about what's great and what's wack.
+ An amazing game that got refined so much in terms of its gameplay that it managed to balance a 3v3 game extremely well.
+ cool mechanics, intros, outros, destructive finish and even the addition of dramatic finishes.
+ Loads of characters to test
+ Raid mode
- Lobby system is abysmal
- No main menu
- Combos in the training mode are genuinely abysmal and useless
- The story is painful in every regard and it is so repetitive that they had to add a shop that enables you to get skills from the story mode without playing it
- Devs don't discuss with the community what the issues are or barely even remote about it
- No rollback netcode
- Arcade mode is just terrible and doesn't teach you anything about the game

This game is heavily about the gameplay itself, as a casual audience if you aren't getting into the game to learn to be very good, it gets repetitive quick and especially as the game doesn't teach you anything, its still beginner friendly but just not intuitive.

You'd have to go online to learn but this game still has a lot of content to go through.
With foresight, not making this game with rollback was a huge mistake.

I suggest this game if you don't mind doing your research for your homework and if you want to get into Fighting Games in preparation for harder games like Guilty Gear Strive.

I rate 4/10.
I understand that "Gameplay is king" but that isn't any reason to make everything else genuinely abysmal.
The gameplay also worsens when its online due to having bad netcode.

One could argue offline and online are two different games of itself.
Review Showcase
+ Has rollback netcode
+ Has many characters and every character has an EX-version of themselves that play differently.
+ Has many modes
+ One of the greatest features in a FG I've ever laid my eyes upon and its genuinely beautiful; Replay time feature
+ Fleshed out practise mode features, impressive feat at the time and still is impressive now.
-+ Complex
+ Amazing soundtracks
+ Amazing character designs
+ Story mode has alternate endings and secrets achieved with interesting but difficult methods, this speaks to me on a level that screams "I love this franchise and I will pour every bit of my soul and passion into it to create the most interesting, complex, fun and engaging experience for not only online players but offline players too." Something that to this day, many FG devs fail to do. This is extremely impressive.
- Tutorial acts like you know things about this game and as a beginner player, you wouldn't know anything unless you learnt from a friend.
- Huge character imbalance
- M.O.M is just a mode that has some type of currency to it but it holds no weight. What's the point of money if you can't buy anything? Seems heavily flawed to me.

I've played the Guilty Gear Franchise ever since I was a little boy and I've loved the journey so much so there is a definitely huge bias here so I try to be objective as possible but I find it genuinely difficult to find faults with the game, even the huge character imbalance is what makes it charming in a sense.

It has undertook a lot, a lot of trial and error when you consider the predecessors that came before + R to reach its current state.

I will give this game a 8/10.
It hits all the right notes but its only major problem is helping new players.
Other then that, for me its a masterpiece of a game and I'll always cherish this bad boy in my steam library.
