Warhammer 40k lore/setting and Doom gameplay are a match made in heaven, who knew. This game does a great job of making you feel like a big superhuman space marine armed to the teeth with all manner of futuristic weaponry. But even the Chainsword and Boltgun feel great to use and popping the grunts with 1 or 2 explosive rounds never gets old.

It pains me to give this game a negative review. Like many of us I enjoyed Spiral Knights as my first MMO, the charming visuals and great soundtrack hooked me, all I wanted to do was grind for the best gear because the combat felt so good. That grind has now been stretched to its absolute breaking point, requiring an obscene amount of time investment just to be able to progress your gear towards the next rarity level. Then once you get there you must grind for an entirely different resource to craft the next level. MMOs are inherently grindy, but what happened to this game is the equivalent of needing a paid resource for every level up in WoW. When you have to grind for levels, you lose out on levelling up while youre grinding, setting you back even further.

There simply aren't enough ways to get these coveted resources, and of course they can all be purchased with real money. So unless you want to literally pay for every level or grind out every single minor improvement for hours, I would skip this one.

Hate to give the thumbs down for a once very fun game but they focused on microtransactions as hard as epic games rocket league. Shame you cant even hop into training mode anymore, $20 down the drain.

used to love this game but now its a glitchy mess with greedy microtransactions. hope i can come back to it someday but right now i couldnt even play it if i wanted to as i cant load in without crashing.

Hello games has obviously been putting in work over the past 6 years, glad I kept this even after the horrendous pre-order experience.
