Initially I was recommended this game based on Amane's route.

Simply put, this game(route) is probably the best involving romance of older female/younger male. All the CGs and Hscenes further fortify the fact. Her route also handles the actual mystery behind the soaring club. The ReTranslation patch is a MUST for Amane's route because the H-Scenes actually develop her character bit by bit. The censored jokes of the english version destroy her character completely. It definitely felt more canon because it covered everything I wanted to know/see.

Kotori's route is canon and is probably the more romantic one. Aoi can discuss all his worries with her, like about his leg. Hell even in Amane's route he first told Kotori that he got rejected. Which made me believe they work well together in a platonic relation. However Kotori's After Story is better romantically compared to Amane. Her route felt more like a fairy tale, but Amane's route felt more calculated.

Ageha's route is a good example of "WTF is going on". Asa & Yoru seemed like a fanservice route. I really hate "twin characters" because I fell they ate away a perfectly functional fifth character. Akari route is sadly a DLC :(

I graduated around 10 years ago, so seeing Bernoulli's Theorem was kinda nostalgic. However I'm surprised how accurately Kotori picked examples for further understanding. I feel like this is perfect to play after a title like Steins;Gate which involves a bunch of college students and their "club" activities. The romance involved is much more pure and innocent.

As a veteran in playing VNs, the translation quality is horrendous. I thought it was exaggerated, but it wasn't. It really is. The Re-Translation/Restoration patch has some bugs for the Steam version(since it wasn't designed for it). The best way to play this game would be to buy the Steam Release to support the Dev, then sail the high seas and grab the 18+ JP version. The JP version only has the updated patch.

Shower thought: Fansubbers keep honorifics and some terms in japanese with TL notes to introduce westerners to japanese culture. But why do Official Translators completely Westernize it? Shouldn't the goal of a game produced in Japan promote atleast their culture even if a little?

This game may not return the intensity of the puzzles we had in the early titles. However what it delivers on is a good story. I would go as far as to say the story is much better than what Shadow of the Tomb Raider has to offer.

The side characters you come across, you care about. Everyone leaves an impression long enough to remember them after the game is over. Lara's journey was filled with adventure, but alas destruction also followed.

The ending was quite emotional for me, and its amazing how AAA games are still able to do that, instead of going for island battle royals.

I followed Vanquish back when it was first released on Xbox360. One of my friends adamantly claimed back then 'This game deserves to be played on PC'. The X360 simply couldn't handle some of the complex scenes, such as when some enemies would launch 3204923790472309 rockets into the sky.

I loved Sam's suit. The bullet-time effects are really awesome, and sometimes it makes you feel like doing a stunt. The difficulty curve is really high at the higher difficulties.

I'm really glad we got to play this old classic on PC finally, even if its late. The game is an absolute charm to play at 144fps 1440p. I hope platinum games considers making more third person shooters like this.

A complete remaster of the first game using the engine from Last Light. Though it adds more color to the game, as opposed to the gritty tone of Last Light(non Redux).

Most weapons from Last Light make a return, so do the difficulty modes. The areas with significant change are the Library approach, and separation in D6 where we have spiders instead of Armored Nosalies from the first game. I personally preferred the Armored Nosalies more. A few levels have also been "stitched" together. Sadly Artyom's Journal voice changed. I loved the first one much better.

Also did I say we have Bourbon? We have Bourbon.

The successor to the famous PC melting Crysis.

This title was far more forgiving of PCs, but the level design and details suffered because of it. The most shocking change came in the form of Linearity from a Concrete Jungle as opposed to something more tropical.

That said, if you've never played the first games, this game is easily fun to play. Its got a mod too, Maldo's HD v4. It super enhances the textures throughout the game, editing the TOD as well. Many other fun mods exist, but Maldo's is a must.

Its disappointed as a sequel to Crysis, but as a game in itself, its fine. Probably play this before Crysis & Warhead.

The Last Crysis title after the first with all the gameplay elements.

That said, Crytek locked down modding partially for this title, since we can't freely edit the TOD files anymore. Something epic like Blackfire's Mod is not possible in Warhead. That leaves the lighting system feel a bit dated compared to today's games. However it still holds up. Many of the texture mods for Crysis can easily work along with Warhead.

The gameplay overall is more refined, and we have a better protagonist. The story is more focused on our guy Psycho, which I love. Wish they used the same VA for Crysis 3.

This is not a game, its art.

That said, the game's concept was heavily changed from the E3 reveal we got. I suppose, we got something a little more lighthearted, compared to the "darker" feel of the E3 footage.

Also the game is obnoxiously low on polygons for various surfaces.

That said, the story is solid, and the revelation at the end is shocking indeed. 2 of the 3 DLCs complete the story, connecting it to the first Bioshock hence finishing the loop, bringing the trilogy to an end.

Manly tears were shed at the endings.

The year is 2018. Hardware has finally caught up. Crysis was the 'RTX' back in 2007 when it released. It was so resource intensive people paired upto 4 GPUs just to get 30fps at 1080p. Thanks to its intelligent motion blur technology even 12fps would seem playable. Thanks to the 'speed' mode atleast the character moved faster to compensate for slow frame-rates (sounds weird, but trust me it worked).

A 1080Ti can play the vanilla game at 4k, with 4x MSAA with above 60fps, so we finally did it guys!

Though on a more series note, the vanilla game has severly reduced draw distance, to fall into the limit of DX10 draw calls. Once you actually tweak the cfg files, you realize Crysis can never be maxed. Yes. You can easily raise the draw distance to insane values like 200 where small clutter (like broken barks on the ground) are visible from way far away, but doing that you stress a 'single' thread. At some point you easily surpass the limits of DX10 where framerate drops to sub 20fps. But damn it looks pretty.

If Maldo focused on Crysis instead of that Crysis 2, it would probably be the prettiest game for ages to come. Thanks to Blackfire's TODs the game looks stunningly beautiful even by today's graphical standards. The Vanilla game might feel a bit lacking in the lighting department.

The gameplay itself is sandbox. To give you an idea of the scale: strap C4 on a jeep, send it down a hill to watch the enemy panic, and then when they all gather around to investigate, blow them to kingdom come. The aliens are probably the toughest and annoying enemies I've encountered in games. They were dumbed down so much in Crysis 2 & 3 that its criminally unfair.

I wish there were more games like Crysis. I had first read about Crysis in a magazine in 2007 and got hooked to it immediately. If I had known then how the series would end, I would probably have never bothered.

Just play the first game, and then pretend the 2nd never happened. Then play the 3rd to recieve the most underwhelming ending to a series with such potential.

This is one of the truer next gen games to first hit the market. Each interior of buildings are detailed, and you can enter several buildings seemlessly. A huge amount of detail on objects with enough polygons. The gameplay has gone more towards the style of the first game, no more insta-kill execution streaks.

Now the bad, NPC pop-ins are intense and bad. Textures on distant objects is PS1 quality. Not to mention the game might bug on you quite often. Apart from that, if you can look past it, there is a wonderful next-gen game hidden beneath.

Also fun fact, ACUnity was one of the few games which weren't 'downgraded' so kudos to that too.
