Fun little game, can recommend. Gets a lot easier once you realize there are persistent upgrades you can buy.

This game is awesome. I like to play as the engineer a lot (support class, to keep the ship repaired and running smoothly), but the gunnery and pilot roles are also super fun. It's a small dev team, so there's not quite as much content or polish as one would like, BUT it's a great start and I hope to see lots more from the devs in the future. It's also playable solo, but that's not really the main experience. I play pubs a lot, and the vast majority of people are great to play with, which says a lot about the community.

Looking forward to the next year of content!

I played through the first 3 missions, which I know isn't a lot, but it's just...so archaic-feeling. You can't queue more than 5 units to build in a building, and there's no circular build queuing. You can't even queue if you don't have the resources. When selecting units, you get the portrait of every single unit, so it's very hard to actually count and maintain a ratio of units, e.g. melee to ranged. The pathfinding is terrible, and units can't walk through each other so melee heroes sometimes get blocked from the action by their own units and just pace back and forth. You can at least set a rally point on a unit, which is nice. There's a hotkey for selecting all (combat) units in the game, which gives you an idea of the level of strategy the developers expect you to employ.

The whole thing just feels like a pretty toy using dated UX and controls from literally decades ago. If this is supposed to help reinvigorate the RTS genre...well, I feel bad for RTS enthusiasts.

I was hoping this game would be fun, but it's actually just pure stress, and not the good kind. Some of the minigames are ridiculously hard, and just...why subject yourself to that.

Quintessential fun tower defense. Plus with runes (level modifiers) you can make it as challenging or easy as you want.

This game is actually pretty fun. It's hard at first (expect to die numerous times in the first couple hours), but it's fun building up a ship and destroying traders and hostile ships alike. The main problem is there's only about 10 hours of gameplay. After that, you have enough autominers that you don't need to point your mining lasers, and you have enough armaments to take out any ship with ease; they just don't get stronger after a certain point. And there are precisely 4 random events: a sun is nearby, an asteroid is nearby, a friendly trader is nearby, or a hostile ship is attacking. That's it. It's enough for 10 hours, and it's a blast for those 10 hours, but then you're just...done. Unless you really want to start over to impose some arbitrary challenge on yourself, but you already built your dream ship the first time, didn't you?

Anyway, if $4 for 10 hours of ship-building ship-destroying fun seems worth it to you, I recommend giving it a shot. (And yes, it very well might be abandoned, but there aren't TOO many bugs, and it's $4!)
