On release day this game was a mess but the devs have released a ton of patches in a very short amount of time to bring the game to a point where it is pretty playable.

This is one of my favourite VR games and probably one of the best action VR games out there right now. It's a little rough around the edges but the core gameplay mechanics are extremely fun and unlike anything else I've seen in a VR game. The movement options like wall running, sliding, flipping, etc, are really cool and feel pretty fluid and intuitive once you get the hang of it.

You can customize your loadout from a decent arsenal of weapons that even features some very unique things like swords, kunai, shiruken, and a bow. Melee weapons essentially function like lightsabers and melee combat isn't nearly as robust as melee focused VR games where you can block and parry and your swings have windup, but it works well for the game's movement focused style as generally you'll be using your swords while doing something like dashing past an enemy. There is also heavy use of bullet time allowing you to pull off some pretty stylish kills and maneuvers.

There's not much to the campaign and the graphics are very arcade-like but personally I like the cyberpunk aesthetic the game offers and the real meat of the game is simply slashing and shooting up bad guys in the procedurally generated missions and challenges. There are plenty of RPG elements to keep you grinding such as character level, skill points, and augments of varying classes of rarity for your armor and weapons, the rarest of which offering unique "diablo style" traits such as returning a bullet to your magazine with each headshot.

If you have a VR kit and are looking for more action games to try I would highly recommend this game. It plays like an action scene from the matrix movies.

neat concepts but the gameplay and mechanics don't seem very well thought out

Fast paced metrovania style game with less metroid and more roguelike elements. The permanent upgrades encourage you to keep coming back without sacrificing the addictive weight of permadeath. Controls are tight and combat is very high risk/reward with enough weapon and skill variety to make for plenty of game-breaking builds.

The combat and the story are pretty good but the game design shines through in a way that pushes the medium unlike any other game I've played. Almost every decision or story element in the game is interactive in a way that makes it much more impactful. The music is really good too.
