Side-note: This is it. My time has finally come! Surely this time the project will finally succeed and I can finally move forward onto becoming a part of the Council. I will not, however, make silly stereotype, rookie mistakes. Trial and error seems to be the only way to go, otherwise I would have accomplished my task long ago.

Much later edit, during a late break: Well, the project worked. None of the possible side-effects were present during the experiment. After a long enough period of observation of the subject, it seems there are no major lasting effects. Pity. That in itself would have been enlightening.
