Have you ever imagined how it is to command a space ship in star trek style? When you should decide what it is more important: to power up shields, turn on weapon systems or warm up the engines to flee as soon as possible?
FTL brings back from the 80's an old game mechanics by generating random events and perma death (loosing is part of the game!). That's a game that makes you evaluate risks all the time, because a wrong decision means game over without any save and load expoit.
That's a lot of replayability considering the different ships, weapons and crew combinations available.
As a plus... soundtrack is great! realy puts you into space for some hours.. or until a risky decision goes bad.
