Cities: Skylines is everything Sim City should have been, and then some more.
It's got all the bits and bobs you'd expect in a great city builder: buildings, civic buildings, unique buildings, more buildings, and more buildings, happiness, budget, transportation lines, and the whole lot.
It's also got fantastic mod and custom asset support - a very good choice.
If you're into this kind of game; if you played SimCity and said, "I think this could be good, if it's done well," then here's your chance to prove yourself right! Get it today! (Or wheneer it goes on sale, if you want to save some money)

TL;DR 10/10 would buy again

An overall fantastic game that fans of spellcrafting, bullet hells, 2D platformers, and 2D shooters will love!

Story: You are an out-of-work wizard who gets hired by a temp agency to be a security guard. You then spend your time adventuring, collecting treasure, hoarding ancient artifacts, killing fairies, and basically doing everything except guarding the school you're supposed to be guarding.

Graphics: Everything is made out of paper, but the game really rocks that look. In addition, the 2D graphics make it suitible for lower-end machines as well as gaming beasts.

And the ALL IMPORTANT GAMEPLAY: Amazing. The spellcrafting system works wonderfully, and while there are some limits - such as a cap on the materials that can be used to make a spell - chances are, if you can imagine it, you can make it. The platforming controls are a bit odd, mostly with the hold-down jump mechanics and the relatively slow move speed, but you can enchant your robes to take care of that if need be!

Outstanding Feature: I especially enjoyed the multilayered shielding technique I used for my robe: A Lightning Rod to block projectiles, a Magic Boomerang to block melee attacks, and a cube of Evercold Ice to absorb any damage that got through. These all regenerate over time as well, and there are also spells that can regenerate health on a kill, so it's pretty forgiving.

Final Comments: Magicmaker is a wonderful game that really deserves a place of honor in anyone's game library.
