buy this game and play it with a controller

perhaps the most fun i ever had playing a game in my 40 years of life (along with the sequel)

you are completely overpowered, but still the game can be challenging, but being so overpowered is so much fun in an open world

story, acting, and characters are very well done. the way this and the sequel trickle aspects of the story based on "collectibles" is also a great plot device that makes you want to complete all the collectibles (moreso in the sequel)

seriously, if somehow you found this game and are reading reviews, just buy it. so much fun to play. strongest recommendation to play (again, use a controller)

Really fun game. I can't stress how much fun it is to use the abilities you have in the setting that you have. A VERY worthy sequel to the 1st game, which is also awesome. The way the story reveals itself is also done very well. I really want to articulate how absolutely FUN the gameplay is.

The big downside is that if you have an AMD gpu, you wont be playing this. Lucky for me I got a new laptop with an nvidia card in it when i finished the first one, so I was able to play. I would have been pretty chaffed if I didn't get to continue the gameplay/story as they are both AWESOME. the acting is absolutely 1st rate. I really can't beleive these games are not more well known and revered as they really do do almost everything right. You start this game because of how fun it is to play with your powers, you keep playing because of the story and advancement of more powers.

Super strong game. I hope there is a Prototype 3, because there has been no game I have ever played that sucked me in so deeply so fast and kept me completely enetertained all the way through it.

BUY THIS GAME (if you have an nvidia gpu, that is, if not, this game may be reason enough to buy one)

Play the Prototype 1 first (works fine on AMD), as the story is a continuation of sorts and it is really worth it to finish 1 as you will enjoy 2 that much more.

I really cant say enough about how fun and satisfying the gameplay and story is on both Prototype games. If you are reading this review, just buy it.

IT'S WORTH IT!

(xbox controller STRONGLY recommended)

EDIT: i read another reviewer who mentioned he was impressed that the main character is a black man and, from what he said and i saw and remember, no one ever even mentioned it; not even his white enemies.

a game series as violent and with such somewhat sadistic plot elements could have easily gotten "cheap heat" with using race as a plot point, but to the credit of the game, i agree with the other reviewer. it was really nice for him to be treated as a man, and not a "black man."

i know some prefer playing mercer in 1, but i much more prefer heller and think he is a stronger character with more urgent motivations, whereas mercer (SPOILER) didnt even know who he was at the start, and it all went down hill from there when he found out what he did.

I love this game. A HUGE surprise win after a short time playing. It manages to be a decent analog game (pinball), mixed with an RPG (something like a story, cuz everyone loves dogs. also upgrades and additional party members, um, balls), mixed with digital control (i used the steam controller for it and LOVED it) and together, it makes this game a truly 1 of a kind; a memorable meshing of things that don't even belong in the same sentence, much less a game together,.

a very fun CASUAL experience (if you are looking for an easy brain dead game to play at the end of a long day, that while challenging, is still "fun" and achievable, TRY THIS GAME).

this game is way out of left field, but a perfect way to kill some time without memorizing keybindings all night instead of, well, playing game and enjoying yourself. this game is easy to play, deep enough for a casual hardcore, yet light enough to play a few hours in the time needed to even learn another games keybindings.

In other words, short time played, this game is EPIC WIN

instead of "which way should i attack them from?" strategies, you now have the "randomness" of pinball to use to "sneak" through a level.

The "mazes" of each level are pinball scenerios, and your balls represent different party members with different abilities.

This game is a classic. if you even remotely like rpgs and/or pinball, you gotta try this game. it may not do either 1 perfectly, but it sure is fun!

Well played!

This movie has so much win that I am changing my life by leaving my wife and kids, learning kung fu, getting some red Chuck Taylors, and traveling back in time to kill Hitler.

Tank You Kung Fury!

Would destroy nuts with Triceracop and Thor again!

Guilty Pleasure Game. Mindless PvP, especially Free For All. Team stuff is great too. A few issues, but nothing gamebreaking. Easy to learn, tough to get really good at. But you will get good enough to make everything around you bleed... a lot. Fun to decapitate and eviserate enemies up close. Did I mention How awesome Free For All is?

I actually enjoy the PvP in Chivalry MORE THAN Battlefield 4, and the game is not even as formal as team fortress 2, as far as learning curve goes. VERY easy to get started in, then fun to try and REALLY learn it.

I am not saying that it is as great as Team Fortress 2, but it certainly does what it does very well and is very easy to get hooked on. Nothing grand here, mind you, just some PvP with good responsive controls and no permanent penalty on death. It's Fun. It really is.

For those of you who enjoyed playing the sims by trapping your sim in a small room with no doors or windows or bathrooms or food and playing loud music so they couldn't sleep while watching them cry and wet themselves waiting for the grim reaper to appear... this game is a MUST HAVE AT ANY PRICE

otherwise, this game is worth $5 max (strictly because of its age). add it to your wishlist and buy it when it goes on sale

its gameplay, humor, sound effects, and idiosyncrasies are 1st rate. the game is not perfect, as there are some design flaws and other problems, but it is pure delight to design a base and torture the do - gooders by putting them in a cake mixer.

the gameplay is like a really twisted version of the sims meets austin powers (with plenty of james bond mixed in) with mechanics that are surpisingly deep.

there are many games i play play in order to finish so i can get the storyline ending

this game isn't one of them. i play this game for the pure joy of playing it, i dont really care about the storyline, it is just fun and satisfying to play this game making your plans and being succesful while seeing it through

(note, i played this game long before i added it to my steam library, so i have many many more hours of gameplay then is reflected by my hours played. i bought this as i had a new computer and no idea how and where and when i got it the first time, so i bought it on steam so i would always have it)
