Early Access Review
Fun little game. Can tell it's early access, getting some little glitches (like player clipping through doors) and it's a little rough around the edges. Of course, am sure they'll 'bring some good updates and improvements in the future. I wish it said partial controller support instead of full on the steam store. No button overlay or prompts. Crafting with the controller is pretty difficult, hard to navigate the interface and menus. Tablet was almost impossible use with the controller.

I've only played around 4 hours. Like a good survival game it drops you in without much help, has a learning curve. Rouge like learning, dying and starting over to figure things out. Personally gives me a Stardew Valley x Don't Starve vibe with zombies! Excited to see more out of this game and hope they make some quality gameplay improvements and update during early access. I am really hoping for better controller support.

If you like crafting, base building, survival games. You'll probably like this game. It does look like a The Forest clone at first, but Green Hell really does have it's own feel, Just like most survival games, Green Hell has a steep learning curve, and keeps you fighting for your life and your sanity. Dealing with Hunger, Sanity and Sleep, reminds me of another great game from the genre, Don't Starve. Though Green Hell has you micromanage hunger, thirst and health in a much different way. Hunger isn't just as simple as eat anything you can. Food is split into 3 categories; Carbs, Proteins and Fats. Water is always dirty or unsafe and needs to be sterilized to drink without penalty. Health is also a complicated affair. The tiniest things in the jungle can be deadly. Leeches, worms and parasites can drive you mad and kill you slowly, injuries can lead to infection that has to be dealt with or you can just fall down a cliff and die. You'll probably die a lot but that comes with this genre. The games crafting system and inventory has a nice realistic bush-craft feel, Can't over stuff your backpack, crafting a shelter takes a little more time and planning. Personally, I feel like injuries take a lot more to deal with and avoiding them is important. One wrong step can change everything.

I would recommend this game. I haven't beat it or mastered it yet but I will be playing it and excited to see it expand in the future.

I am so happy I stumbled across this game. I have been addicted to this game for over a year. The updates keep things fresh and can't wait for the summer 2015 update. Must Buy!!!
