Victoria 2 was always my favorite out of the second generation Paradox games, so I guess you could say I've been waiting for this for a while. I'm really enjoying my time with it. And as with any paradox game, you'd expect it to improve significantly with each patch/DLC, and with Victoria 3 I think they have a really excellent core to build upon.

The one annoyance that's worth putting into the review is that I wish it were easier to compare the Weekly Balance of buildings in different states, as that seems to be the most important number when determining which is most optimal to upgrade (Paradox if you're listening!).

For those coming from EU4 though, be warned: this game has an even steeper learning curve, and its focus is much more on economy building rather than conquest - which perhaps makes Victoria 3 a more niche title. But for those that that appeals to, I think it it a great game.

I can in no way recommend this game in its current state.

These are the words that should be reserved for an Early Access game. And yet they are even more applicable now than ever. Bugs, graphical inconsistencies, English spelling and grammar errors and a promise from the devs to continue supporting the game for at least a year. You know, supporting the game and fixing stuff that really should've been done before releasing the game as 1.0.

I cannot fathom why the devs thought it was okay to declare the game done when it lacks so much polish. In all but name Pixel Piracy is still a beta and being sold as a complete, ex-Early Acess, is dishonest and misleading.
