Genuinely an amazing game but unfortunately runs on Unreal Engine 5, meaning its super unoptimized. Game has potential to be the best Borderlands game to date though.

Early Access Review
i just had to review this game. The art style is so beautiful and unique. The gun play feels punchy and strong. Indie games stay winning.

As someone who purchased the supporter edition, i am very disappointed in the devs for censoring the game all to make a quick buck for players on consoles.

This is NOT a kids game and its target audience are adults who want to experience the gritty reality and situations SWAT officers experience. Until the devs either add a toggle option for pc players to turn off censorship or just revert the censorship all together, my review will remain negative.

Do the right thing, VOID.

One of the best examples of a sequel done right. This game is a piece of art and can be enjoyed in its entirety whether you played the first game or not.

Lets talk story for a minute. The story is very interesting as it is very historically accurate to what happened back then in medieval Bohemia. A lot of the activities you do in the game have real history behind them and you can go and watch videos about some of the events that occur in the game. The story itself is mostly fiction with historical characters backing you up and making you feel like you're in the middle of some big war between 2 opposing kings.

Gameplay may be a hot topic to some but it is definitely one of those things where you get used to it. Swordfighting (and any type of fighting for that matter) is EXTREMELY difficult at the beginning because Henry (the playable character) has no skills by the time you start. You actively have to train each and every skill up, which is actually way easier than it sounds but you still need to put the time in. The early game is also unforgiving because you basically get put right in the middle of a town where everyone currently dislikes you, so you wont be getting many discounts on items you may need to assist you. Overall though, the early game in its own way is actually the most fun in my opinion because much like yourself, all the enemies you come across don't have much more skills than Henry does, except they may have better gear. You will need to be very resourceful in the early game to be successful.

The soundtrack, oh my god the soundtrack. I want you to think of just being in Medieval times and just think of music that would fit being in that time. Well, this game does that perfectly. The music makes you feel so immersed in the environments and situations you find yourself in. I usually don't gush over soundtracks unless they really help the experience and this one does that very well. I never once turned down or off the music.

Overall, this is my GOTY for 2025 and is a masterpiece through and through. While the first game was good in its own right, it was still very jank and that could turn people off. This game takes the same formula and adds such polish and refinement to it that its almost hard to get back to give the first game a shot.

Buy this game please.

First off, I want to thank the devs for being one of the few to still offer free demos. The demo was a great way to show what kind of a ride you will be in for when you play this game.

I am still playing through Steel Seed, but I think I have played enough to know that I definitely like it. The main character, while not super in depth is enough of a force to be able to drive the plot forward and at least make me care about the stakes. The story is actually kind of similar to the plot of WALL-E but with its own spin on things. I actually really like it.

The combat is really fluid and the flow of things is very smooth. This game is mainly about stealth but you're not completely defenseless if you get caught. The stealth followed by the movement is very tight and you can really feel how defined it is. The skill tree is also very good as it doesnt have boring upgrades like "+1.5% extra damage". The upgrades are more like "your robot buddy Koby now can fire freaking grenades at your targets". It makes you want to keep upgrading to add new stuff to your arsenal.

My main issue is with the parkour sections of the game. For the most part, the wall climbing, tight rope, and sliding sections were very smooth. But the absolute worst part, bar none, is the wall running sections. I cannot tell you how many times Zoe would just refuse to jump whenever I told her to jump off of the wall run. Not to mention how it sometimes just refuses to "stick" her to the wall as you will make a jump to the wall run part and just slide off anyway. Most of my deaths in this game were due to wall running.

Other than that though, this game is a very good action adventure game that does really well to keep your attention and keep you invested.

8/10

This game plays like one of those fake mobile game ads you see scrolling through social media. If you like jank generic survival games then go off i guess.

The short: Not terrible, but way overhyped and unoptimized... Get it on a nice sale.

The long: Game looked cool at first. Stylistically, it's impressive but it simply does not run good and the settings it provides are laughable. The upscaling looks so lazily implemented, almost like it was more of a necessity and an afterthought than an option to boost already optimized performance. Using upscaling barely changed performance for me.

The combat is not revolutionary like everyone else is saying. Paper mario did it first back in the early 2000s. It's enjoyable but definitely not industry defining.

The music is really good, had no complaints for that.

In conclusion, just wait for optimization updates and a nice sale in a couple months and go play Baldurs Gate 3, an actual optimized game.
