A very interesting idea that's quite fun to toy around with! For people who like to see where they're driving when going to an unfamiliar area, this could definitely be handy - the satellite images and 3D models of the world are enough for it to be useful for a use case like that, in my opinion. Despite how rough the terrain can be with Google's 3D mapping, it's actually fairly drivable, so the developer has done a good job there. It's mainy the random artefacts or cars that interrupt driving, but I know that's not the developer or Google's fault - it's the limitations of whatever technology they used to create the 3D maps.

There's a bit of thought into the playability too; thankfully you can jump, fly up & forwards (like an air-break), unflip and also teleport within an area around you - so you're never stuck and having to restart or enter an address again.

One feature I'd like to see would be customisable handling - it's be good for users to be able to adjust stiffness or spings/shock absorbers, maybe tweak tyre grip and car performance; that way it could be more drivable and engaging to the user's preferences.

Definitely a fun little game to play, especially if you haven't got much time but want a quick battle, as they can be several minutes as opposed to diving into something that can be upto 40 minutes long.

So far I've had a laugh looking at the whacky stuff people have made aswell as the enjoyment of improving your robot and crushing people with it! It appears to have a wide variety of parts to play with and the fact you have to earn extra slots to build with I think gives you a long-running goal to acheive which is great.

I'm not so good at reviews and such, so it's quite a short one. Overall I'd recommend it.

For an early access game, there's a fair bit of fun to be had. I like the theme to it and the satisfaction of taking over a point as usually it's not that simple. That being said there's definitely areas it needs to improve on strongly:

  • Clunkyness - a lot of the time your character does not respond quickly at all when you try to change direction suddenly or even when you're jumping - it feels like there's little gravity. I can understand they're trying to make it real by slowing how fast you can suddenly move, but I think making it feel like you're on custard isn't the way to do it.
  • Matchmaking - trying to join a game is painfully awkard. You have a list of say 15 or so games in progress, with only 3 or so that you're able to join, but you end up waiting a while for it to start anyway. On top of that you can't simple chose a map and/or game mode and click "search" which it REALLY needs. I really enjoy a specific map on this game but I rarely play it as I have to hope I'm lucky and come across it in one of the open games. This definitely needs to be changed.
  • Party System - you and your friends HAVE to be the same class (I think it still applies in this update), although I understand it will be to have a fair balance of classes in a match, it's just a pain. If I want to be a pilot, but my friends wants to be a sniper then that can't happen. We have to be the same class to queue. This became strongly apparent when a friend bought the sniper class but I didn't want to pay for it so he had to be the standard infantry class for us to be able to play.

Other than that, I enjoy the game - just not so much because my friends play other games. It's definitely worth checking back further down the line if you don't enjoy it at the moment. It's got a lot of potential in my eyes.

8.5/10

Despite the fact this game has various game-breaking bugs, you can just about push them aside and move on as the game provides a lot of flexibility with what you can do in it. People in the know can make their own custom missions, and the game itself has strong modding support. This has lead to the popular mod "DayZ" being created for it using this game and its engine - which I'd personally say it's worth buying the game for, even if you're not going to even attempt the campaign or any of the non-DayZ multiplayer servers.

Though not perfect, I'd say this game has a degree of realism, along with a wide variety of military weapons/vehicles, all with a range of different scopes, even thermal and night-vision. It also scores points for the functionality it provides, for example how you have the different stances like crouch and prone which can help your aim and visibility. Building on the functionality, the game even includes a good item system and even backpacks to hold said items in. Items can be dropped, picked up, placed in bags, crates and cars - again providing a lot of good use in the custom missions the community can make.

Overall if you can tolerate the bugs - which I suppose you'll get used to - the game is definitely worth every penny for the custom missions/mods that are made, which offer a lot of playability in my opinion.

10/10.

Great game, play it at least once a day - but usually more! It has quite a few game modes and maps, along with various classes and weapons so it's not just a simple first-person shooter that becomes boring quite quick. Its cartoon-ish style also adds humour to it and makes it all the while enjoyable. I like serious first-person shooters that take realism into account, but I still enjoy and recommend this! :)
