Its to recommend, but not by all means. Read below to know why.

First of all: I love this game. Its pretty much what I dreamed of since I watched the movie's as a little boy. I did not play Operation Genesis, so I can not be disappointed by missed opportunities to be better than that game.

I love the breed of dinosaurs and the creation of a park around them.

There are just a few things, that were little when I started playing, but that grew as I played further.

The end-game: When I have researched every dinosaur, put everyone I want into a nice area, placed the stores and stuff so the park gets rated 5 stars - whats the endgame? A new mode on a new island, to do the same but with no money limitations? When its obvious that after playing an island for a few hours and not being a complete idiot, the bank account is filled to its maximum so I could even afford to replace every little bird dinosaur with an Indominus Rex? Money is not an issue in the campaing, it should not be removed in the sandbox mode.

--> Why cant you (de-) activate it with the weather options? You could see then if you built a functioning park. Or put in a button combination to add funds to the account if needed. The only time needed is in the beginning though.

Quests from the campaign should be in the sandbox as well. What is the point of having a big park, built with unlimited money, after you have it? With quests you would at least be motivated a bit to maybe change some of the dinosaurs, switch them with each other, let them fight or whatever. Sandbox mode is just boring at the moment.

The game needs more customization: building and dino skins, benches, garbage bins, trees, flowers, decorative items to place in park areas, just anything beside the little signs on the big road. And even those appear by themselves.

There is one thing though, that is really, really annoying me: The A.I. by the dinosaurs.
On first sight they seem to be realistic animals, and if you give them what they want in terms of other dinosaurs, food, forest and grassland... they just seem to be living creatures.
But this is only what is visible on first sight.
They seem to get comfortable only when the DIRECT SURROUNDING is fitting for them. Say, a Brachiosaurus has a big, nice area with some grassland and lots of forest - the dinosaur feels nice when he is IN THE FOREST ... when he goes to the single corner of the area that has no trees (maybe for a watchtower or gyrosphere road) ... he is UNCOMFORTABLE, because there is TOO LESS FOREST in the area. WTF? Yeah, you could add trees there --- but then the grassland bar goes down, because there is none left - or he doesnt find his way to either of the areas within his own area.

Same with almost every dinosaur. When you have a bunch of Stegosaurs together in a large area, and one does run away from a jeep or just randomly --- he gets uncomfortable BECAUSE THERE ARE NO OTHER STEGOSAURS. HOW can that be, Frontier??
It seems as if the Dinosaurs have some kind of an "aura" around them, when that is filled with what they want, they feel good. When they are walking somewhere where its not as they like it, even though its still between the same fences ... they feel bad and wanna break out.

Fix that, add content, especially end-game content, more cosmetics, and fix the A.I., and everyone can have more than a few dozent hours of fun with this game.

All in all: Its to recommend, but not by all means.
