One of the best indie games I've played in a while! wholesome, yet scary, beautiful and lots of fun!

Though this is the best Mech experience you're going to get at the moment, there is a lot to improve on this game. For one it's super arcady and mechs are as fragile as a cardboard box. overal, the mechs lack scale and weight, from the outside they look big, but inside they feel small, the animation lacks weight i guess. The sound design is great, so that helps in it's favor.

The controls and movement are quite frustrating. no strafe walking, the only way to strafe is by flying, which costs fuel. strafing is very important with mechs, because you need to be able to move from and behind cover without taking your aim off.

Controls.. it's a walking machine but it controls like a wheeled car. A and D are for turning, but the game feels like an FPS and so i confuse those keys with Q and E all the time, but there is no key rebinding.

Motionsickness might be a thing. there are three moving elements together, the world, the body of the mech, and your command module. if all these three are moving relative to your head it creates a really confusing mess in your brain. I rarely have issues, and not at first, but after a long play session i felt it building up.

On the pros, defenitely a good concept here, best mech vr game at the market at the moment of writing. Graphics are great, cockpit is very detailed. good effects, a narrated tutorial, lots of mechs and custom guns. Overall a very good concept, and quite extensive. It's just that the core game loop is very frustrating.

This game is quite fun to play, even has a secret level. The lower price is more appropriate than the old one. and the graphics could use some improvement. But i was quite surprised at the amount of ship variations there are!

MOARRRR! this awesome game is sadly just a commercial for a less superior mobile game. It kinda does a terrible job of selling that because why would I want to play on a mobile screen when i've experienced Mech games in VR?????

For a free game, there is not much to complain of course. But there are just some quality of life improvements that need to be made before this can be an enjoyable experience.

Foremost, the bow just doesnt'feel right. The devs should watch these two videos and improve the controls likewise. especially the part about keeping the degrees of freedom:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX3m8HiL-5c
I know this is about guns, but their handling of ranged weapons with the controllers is just awesome.

The aming just feels weird, because the bowstring goes past the pulling hand, the rotation feels off.als i can't aim like a real bow, because, well, there is a giant VR HMD sticking out of my face. So maybe some kind of default ofset will fix this.

Also the slow motion mechanic for the guys throwing spears is awesome, why did it stop working after 3 levels? Besides that, can their trowing be randomized in accuracy, because that would give some more good luck when there are 3 guys throwing spears at you and also 5 monsters running towards you...

It's a great game, lots of enemies and levels, I just can't enjoy because of the controls.

Well you get what you pay for. Basically this game lets you know how it feels to do battle in a game like world of warcraft. Boring is ♥♥♥♥.

The game looks cool, obviously there is a lot of work in the environment. But there is no technique. Just swing your sword around, two hits kills an enemy, one if you use firesword. just hit them fast enough before they attack you, you don't even need the shield you get.

Flying enemies have to be fought with magic lightning balls, but without aiming, you just hold your hand somewhere and hope it hits.

It's also really short i did it in 15 mins, the highscore is 6:30, that's all there is to it. Sure you can do it faster any time, but would you really feel satisfied? If this was a non VR game, it would have been a button masher, and it's still one, you just have to do a ♥♥♥♥ load of more movement to hit the button.

Again, for one dollar, don't expect much more...

It's really fun to swing your sword around in a virtual environment, the surroundings are ok, and there are a lot of different challenges to spend your time with. I think a lot of people will have a lot of fun with this game.

But I want to specifically adress HEMA practitioner or enthausiasts.

This game might not be what you want it to be. The physics are realistic in a sence that you have to hit straight and have your blade roughly aligned. But there is no feedback on the quality of your cut. either you did it right or you did it wrong. This is especially noticable with tatami cutting. Since the purpose of cutting the rolls is to get feedback on how stable your swing is and how well aligned your sword. So a binary option is not going to give you that.

The physic simulation is also just not up for the job. There seem too much lag and a little wiggle with the sword. You can cleary see this in the settings, where you see the handle through the blade, and the handle is tracked better than the sword. Also every now and then, the sword just glitches through.

Since the controllers have less weight to them and the balance is in the center of the hand, there is a lot of rotational movement when swinging, that wouldn't be there irl. This is of course expectable but it would be awesome if the game had some stabilization build in to emulate momentum.

Also, since the game has only katana's I really missed my back swings, because of course kantana's have only one edge. This really limited the speed en elegance i'm used to, especially with the fruit challenges.

Also the game would have greatly benefitted from a free tatami roll cut mode. having you practice and play around with multiple cuts with different move types, or chainging movements together.

Overall it's an OK game, just leaves a lot to be desired if this is what you were waiting for.

[Spoilers Ahead!]

I love this game! It allowed me for an emotional connection with the main character. The fighting was not too hard but satisfying. And the story was tragic but sweet. Though my thought at the end of the story was: "LET ME HAVE MY SWEET REVENGE!!!"

> WORLD
Pros: The world is artisticly made, it feels very dutch, with small wooden towns and old large farms. It was easy to navigate and you could easily remember what was where. The crowded village population made the game feel really alive.

Cons: The world was quite small, only about 6 areas to explore. You'll visit each place 3 times over till the end of the story. And it feels a bit tiring because you keep clearing the same area over and over. Without side quests it was basicly walking from point to point.

> STORY
Pros: The story was very well written and allowed for an emotional connection with the character. The flow of events seem to logicly follow each other. A farmer with temper and courage grew tired of oppression but went in over his head. And things slowly start to escalate the wrong way. The harder he seem to fight the bigger his misfortune. Then i come to my main critic:

Cons: It was not finished! Our hero fought through all the trouble and held fast, trying to save everyone but ends up loosing his loved ones. This should be the turning point of the story. Where our hero bursts in a rage of hate and revenge and kills every single saxon as long as he has breath in his longs. But then the story stops, it just ends. Leaving me watch the credits with unsatisfied feelings of hate and revenge and no where to express them.

> GAMEPLAY
Pros: Simple but effective! There was not much complexity to the gameplay, you basicly walk around and slash every enemy you encounter. Which is not a bad thing since this is an Adventure game. Good balance of the amount of money you found which limits speed of upgrading.

Cons: It was quite easy. A little more variation in enemys, some bosses or maybe a little puzzle here and there wouldn't do harm. I got almost all my achievements on the first run and with the lack of side quests, makes this little replay value.

> SUMMARY
Pros: Good story setup. Emotional connection. Simple but effective gameplay. Beatiful art. And an overall nice feeling.

Cons: Story feels unfinished. Lack of side quests. Little variation. Small world. Easy gameplay.

For a game that has been in production for 6 years, it seems more could have been made. But since this is the companies first full adventure game, and had to do various remakes before release, i'll be forgiving and looking forward till their next project.
