Review Showcase
Finished this game last night with some friends in discord, wasn't thrilled with it so here are my thoughts as someone who enjoys both DBD and Supermassive games.

TL;DR: 2.5/5 - There are better Supermassive games, I'd recommend those over this game immediately. Game only really has appeal for DBD fans and fell flat in a lot of ways for me.

Pros:
- Lots of fun references to DBD
- Enjoyable couch co-op-esque experience
- Cutting Room Floor feature
- Good visuals

Cons
- Movement + controls feel awful
- Short runtime (finished main story in 7 hours)
- Lack of character depth
- Choices feel unimportant and only seem to matter if someone dies or not
- Left a lot of things unanswered
- Unoriginal gameplay mechanics - (very reminiscent of Fatal Frame and Silent Hill at times)
- Mid replay-ability
- Performance issues

A lot of this game felt rushed and unfinished with lots of choices that lead to nothing and scenes where we just never found out what really happened. I would've liked a longer runtime for this game and a lot more consideration for what effects your choices actually have. There were no longer term consequences or bonuses that I experienced and many of the choices we made literally never came up again which left things feeling very redundant.

Along with this, I also had significant frame drops during my playthrough even after reducing the graphics settings and closing most everything else running on my PC. I have a 4070ti and rarely experience frame drops in games anymore so this one definitely feels notable.

While I was impressed with the visuals at times, I honestly found them verging a bit into the Uncanny Valley and I noticed several audio-lipsync desync moments throughout my playthrough. I'd honestly prefer if this game went more for the graphics of The Quarry or any of the Dark Pictures Anthology as I experienced no performance issues with those games and found them to be much more visually captivating.

I would not recommend this game to anyone who has limited to zero interest in Dead by Daylight as that's really all of its appeal. I honestly would probably be rating it lower if not for playing it with my friends who love DBD and understood all of the references. Fun for fans, mid for everyone else.
