theres doomed yaoi in my self indulgent snuff fest. never kill yourself /pos

For transparency sake, I am a beta tester for this game! I and many others helped chipped jokes to Memelord Mode and helped polished the game prior to its release. My opinions will be extremely biased, but I still hope my input will be valuable to newcomers.

Please heed the warnings! Player's discretion is advised. The game is Horrorporn, which is an extremely niche genre that combines themes of horror and pornography together. It is also a Murdersim, which as the genre entails, is a simulator where you get murdered. I personally classify it as Ero Guro and the torture focused alternative within the game to be Ryona despite the game not being of Japanese origin. This game is meant for a very particular audience.

It is not for everyone. If you're going to be buying a visual novel, it should be expected that you can at least read.

YKMET: Strade is an amazing visual novel on all fronts and is currently the only kind out there. The game is a revamp of his original path within Boyfriend to Death and the improvements are immediate. The coding, the art, the writing, and even the music is all created by Gatobob! She has pushed what can be done within the Ren'Py engine and that cannot be understated.

The art now takes on a much more comic book inspired style, it being extremely clean and memorable compared to it's origins. The game contains a hybrid art system, where the sprites within the game are depicted interacting with the MC in first person perspective, all with the quality of CGs. Aspects of the UI are now animated, your Sanity and Health bars changing throughout the story. The camera moves in a manner that shows actions Strade does to you in the game, ranging from being dragged around to depicting your own panic. Events involving you struggling against the characters within the game has the art change to mimic animation, immersing you even more into the actions of your MC.

The game is extremely well written. It has a dynamic personality system where the MCs temperament will change depending on your choices. Strade has been reworked in a way where his dark sense of empathy is much more pronounced and shown, emphasizing how he not only picks apart his victims physically, but also mentally. He will point out how your MC's time with him as changed them as a person, for better or for worse. Ren has also been reworked to make his role in the story change from one that's passive to active, his actions reflective of how you treat him and how his stay with Strade has effected him.

The music is good for a first timer! Words Are Gross Machinery is a great main menu track that helps encapsulate the tone and mood of the game; it's ominous, a bit unsettling yet intriguing. There are leitmotifs used throughout the game, further emphasizing the characters presence in their scenes. The liquid versions of the looping tracks uses the bass to mimic groaning, further emphasizing Strade's degeneracy. I would argue that the music for this game helps further defines it identity as one of a kind.

Overall, I absolutely recommend YKMET: Strade! It is amazing how much Gatobob has improved in all fronts. Admittedly, I wasn't the biggest fan of Strade before the release of this game and my opinion has absolutely switched around. Seeing how much passion and hard work a person can put into a single project is absolutely inspiring. If you can handle the contents of this game, then please, play this game! I cannot wait for YKMET: Lawrence to come out and blow it's original out of the water.

515 hours later and i finally 100% the game (steam shows me 2 different playtimes and idk why lol)
would recommend if you love the princess maker series lol

Jokes aside, the English translation isn't the best, but it's enough to understand a large majority of it.
I'm used to playing games whose translations are 100% done yet half-assed or enough crucial buttons are translated but the story isn't and you're left in the dark to figure it out. Thankfully, this game is the former but there will be eye-twitching moments that make you wonder if they had a human translator look at it. Biggest issue is conjugation.
Updates towards translations are slow, but they are working on it. It's significantly better than it was at launch, so I'm not too worried about it on that front.

The game is enjoyable. The game is free, made in a month and the art is pretty and passable, so i'll give it a thumbs ups. Though it has some drawbacks.
For transparency sake, I am very much biased towards Kiana and disliked Mikhail. I'm not the best at describing what I liked, but I know what I didn't.
I wished Kiana's route was longer and more fleshed out.
I didn't enjoy Mikhail. I understand he was supposed to be some sort of combination of a tsundere and rude rich boy. They tried giving him a change of heart at the end but it wasn't enough. The story tries to redeem him by pulling out the typical tropes like "ahhh my dad is mean, so im mean too", "ahhh i have a secret that when revealed makes me misunderstood :(", "haha random bonding moment look we get along now", among other things. His route is the longer of the two, yet is the worst written. I wished that his story was improved and that Kiana's had more depth to hers. This could all be preference, though. It could be just that I'm not a fan of this type of writing style.
I wish the best for the team and to all of their future endeavors

Beautiful art, great atmosphere, and a fun room escape game. Had trouble near the end, but thats just a skill issue from me. It's free, so I highly recommend others to give it a try!

the bad translation ruins the game's story, the graphics are extremely rudimentary, and gameplay is extremely limited. it wants to be a deep rpgmaker game but fails. its a no from me
