Despite complaints about the interface, and "just use satisfactorytools website", Modeler has a feature that the websites dont: Miners. You can put in exactly the miner configuration that you have, exactly the part you want to target, and fill in the space between in a few clicks.

Even tho it's early in dev, it really is a great planner.

Not my video, but gives a detailed overview.

[edit] The vast majority of my hours is because I leave it open while playing. . . as you really should especially mid-late game. You're gonna need it

it's good, it's always been fun to just pick it up to play for 5 hours over a lazy w'end.

Lately tho I've gotten to later stages, and then RNJesus just keeps his thumb on you.

cpu drivers get all the right weapons at the right time. Next thing you know, you're being flipped and reversed, then go from 2nd to 10th in the small handful of seconds that it takes to get righted.

Sure, it's fun specially after learning the tracks even the hard ones. But skill simply cannot overcome getting rocketed and flipped into a wall to a full stop.

I don't mind losing, but stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me. Having a good race and then getting randomly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ into last place is REALLY ANNOYING.

Early Access Review
✅ Terraria
✅ Stardew
✅ Don't Starve
☑️ incomplete

But it's fun and fine. It's no less featured than Terraria was at this point in dev. Less survivalist than Don't Starve with the action of Terraria.

Not a lot of food types, and losing seeds (75% from harvesting 🙄) is a real pita and annoying. You can get 100% from a skill, but it's still very annoying at low levels.

Anyway, worth it on the Sumner Sail price.

This game is COVERED with upsells and begs. The character select screen, half of it is DLC only. The one world map links to 2 separate maps that are DLC only. The level rewards screen is *mostly* DLC only.

I played for an hour before refunding due to being sick and tired of constant upsells in my face.

Took me most of the game to really figure out what it was about this game that made me dislike it.

TL;DR: there's all these little bitty little frustrations that make the game harder than it should be. It's annoying when the game itself gets in the way of enjoying the game.

Also . . . it's buggy. *Several* times I had to quit and restart the game so that a mission would reset and show the big bad guy, or open the door, or unlock the console or whatever.

Also also . . . it's unbalanced. Most missions are spot on with the level requirement. But about 25%-35% of the time, it's terribly unbalanced. My (un)favorite is the survival type boss fights, where wave after wave of Level Requirement +2-4 guys are thrown at you. Super accurate sponges, even on easy.

Anyway here's the long part. Player is locked dead center of the screen, right?

* All of the ammo counts are down in the corner. To figure out why the ability or whatever you're trying to do won't work, you have to not only look away from the action to look at bars and numbers, but then you have to figure the right things out cuz the ♥♥♥♥ is small and there's 5 different currencies packed into the little display. "Dude the icon is lit why won't it fire?? OH it was missing 2 pixels in the cooldown. Aaand i'm dead."

* The map is in the other corner. It shows baddies and health stations in range. But you can't see that cuz you're lookin at your guy. If you're low on health, and look at the map to see where the nearest station is, oh look there's a baddie just off screen and he's shooting aaand i'm dead.

* Health? Away from my sight lines, down in the corner. Most of the times, I died having absolutely no idea that my health was really even that low. The edges of the screen go red, but it's subtle AND I'm not lookin there. . . i'm lookin at my guy. In the middle. Making sure he doesn't get stuck on piles of garbage bags, boxes or crates while I'm trying to fight. Except I'm dead.

And the controls.
* The map beacon is on the Dpad. You have to stop moving to use it.
* The Big Weapon "Tactical" is on the left stick button. SOOOO easy to hit accidentally.
* Dodge is on A. Aim is right stick. You stop aiming when you jump out of the way, so you have to reacquire when done dodging.
* You COULD use keybroad and mouse, but don't bother because everything is on an angle and the binds are very spread out.

And the last thing I'm gonna drop here is just representative of what I'm talking about: go to the cyberware vendor, and you can change your looks and all the stuff you chose at the game start. And your character is laying there in a cool lookin moody colored op table. . . dim blue light while you're trying to choose colors for your character. Again, not a TERRIBLE problem, but just a little frustrating.

Dear Developer:The guy in the middle of the screen? There's a ring around his feet that does nothing. That ring could be sliced into 3 semi-circles: health, energy and tactical energy. Or, line up icons on the bottom side of the feet circle that fill up like the ones in the corner. Then, when they're full, FLASH EM. Too many times, not having that information readily available was the core reason why I died, something else negative happened in the game.

Bottom line: The game needs UX revisited. It's pretty, and the action is decent to good, but between could be better control scheme, could be better ux, and could be better balance, all of which seem like you could deal with individually, it winds up being "I hate this game" by a thousand paper cuts.

Can't rebind E key.

Escape, sure makes perfect sense. Spacebar... mmm I kinda get it, I guess.

Thanks to a config that I must use, I need to MOVE KEYS AROUND. Can move every key here, but can't move E. Why? Why hold out ONE KEY from the middle of the keyboard?

It makes ZERO sense for any modern game built on a modern engine to not allow 100% rebinding of all keys. Anything less is either covering for shortcomings/screwups, or the developer casting their opinion of how they want you to play the game. Refunded.

"Hey . . . Our game is rated overwhelmingly positive, plenty of happy people that aren't you." Yeah. Go you.

[edit] Game is fun. They fixed the stupid keybinding issues.
___

Fun game. I was pretty pumped about this game and relative to my expectations it delivers a solid 81%, tho. Reviews said it was story focused and it seems to be, so far.

I think it's a good game, and I recommend getting it, but the negative review is because I can't give it neutral . . .

If you're reading this review to decide if you want to buy the game, don't do it yet. Wait a couple weeks at least. Me, i'm an idiot and had to have it, so Ima power thru it. But regular people with some sense, just wait for a couple patches.

Biggest problems:
1) The stupid stupid "why are you like this" key bindings. F key cannot be rebound by default. As if nobody would ever want to use F. Brackets, backslash, even mouse5 are fine, but no F. Binding F is simply MY pet peeve, but I've read that there's plenty of other keybinding BS going on. Like no Arrow Up/Down and no Enter. Left/right, sure, gahead.

2) I can't holster the weapon. It says to "dbl tap alt" to put away the weap. . . well, it doesn't work. dbl tap weapon key, dbl tap alt, nothing does it. Why? I'm sure it has something to do with the keys I was allowed to rebind. HIGHLY annoying...

Anyway, I did find a guide to do it using the config files, but why I gotta do it that way? (I'll link the guide in the comments)

I wanted to F to pay respects, but not to the guy that thought this keybinding fiasco was a good idea.

Can't change keybindings. With my KB layout I can't use WASD as it's intended. Refunded until they add such a basic thing.
