Not since Primordia have I been so engrossed in a point and click adventure game, but The Excavation of Hob's Barrow had me hooked. It's an interesting tale, with quirky characters that really sets the scene for this Victorian village. I, like Thomasina Bateman, was not prepared for what lay ahead!

The great thing about this game is that the majority of the puzzles actually make sense. I didn't need to use a guide at all during my play-through, and never became frustratingly stuck. This was most welcome, as I really wanted to unravel the story.

All in all, a great little game, I was sad when it was over (you'll see what I mean). If you are a fan of these old school point and click games, or you haven't dipped your toes for a while, give it a go.
