Boring gacha with boring gameplay loop

Playing for sephiroth story but not worth it

It's okay but it's a poor continuation of the series if you can even call it that. Doesn't even really play like X. Stages are bland etc. It's a mobile game. I respect Capcom creating this as a form of preservation and not just letting the game fade away like idk, Mobius Final Fantasy or smthn but with how Capcom is, I doubt this was made for preservation and rather just to get an extra dollar outta the game.

cried at the end - solid journey and resolution that pays off well - been thinking about it for days. can wholeheartedly recommend if u wanna tank some emotions

It's like one step forward and two steps back for this franchise when it comes to Frontiers:

Controlling Sonic in an open environment is extremely refreshing for an increasingly linear series, but the worlds are boring and the story objective loop becomes stale two worlds in.
Cyberspace feels pretty good to control and the stages are a step forward from the previous game, but they're still mostly short challenges and are almost entirely made from reused assets and level designs - yes it has a story reason but it's not an excuse for what is obviously Sega being lazy again.
The story finally takes itself somewhat seriously in a soapy way like the adventure games, but the actual story is kinda meh when you take a step back and look at it in totality.

This whole game has back and forth of good and bad but nothing is exceedingly good or exceedingly bad but for this franchise is a decent step in the right direction... but should we really be that light in our criticism of SEGA and t h e Sonic Team by saying its a good starting step? Especially for its asking price I think we deserve to be a little harder on games like this.

I'm really late to checking this out but it was a great experience nonetheless. It's surreal and strange but oddly beautiful in both graphics and sound design which perfectly compliment the simple yet pretty emotional mystery. If anything the final act was a little too repetitive but I wouldn't say it tarnishes the experience - definitely don't pass on this especially considering the price tag.

i dont understand how a company with such a legacy as square enix can absolutely botch something like this. again. i want to say im confident theyll be able to fix the poor framerate, visual issues that emulators have fixed years ago and choppy gameplay performance but seriously, square enix really has some balls to just keep pumping out things with glaring issues like this time after time.

please play this gorgeous game.
