When I first started playing the game, I wasn't particularly impressed and was kind of annoyed with how easy it was to get lost. This inevitably led to me wasting quite a few hours just walking back to areas I had already explored only to find that I still could not progress in those areas leading to further time wasted.

Another thing that I found kind of annoying was having to navigate my way back to boss fights every time I lost. Thankfully, this only affected certain bosses and this annoyance was almost completely removed once I unlocked the Dreamgate ability.

Despite not really enjoying the game at first, I slowly grew to appreciate both the gameplay and lore. The thing that really changed my mood towards the game was defeating the "final" boss (The Radiance) for the first time. I don't know what it was but that is by far one of the most memorable experiences I have had while gaming. Both the attack patterns of the boss and the quick respawn time made it into a very enjoyable fight with a wonderful cutscene as a reward for beating it.

When I eventually found Godhome, I gained an even greater appreciation for each of the bosses. I realized that the bosses I previously hated were actually fun and well designed, it was just the slow walk back to the fights that had ruined my perception of those bosses. (the one exception being Oblobbles as they are just an rng bullet hell) I have still not beaten the 5th pantheon, but I am slowly mastering each boss and there is no better feeling than finally succeeding after many failed attempts.

My only major complaint at this point is that I now have to wait for Silksong.
