This game makes you question reality and your existence.
"Am I actually this bad?"
"I've played COD for a long time and I've always been better than what I play like now"
"How is everyone so damn good at this game? Are there no bad or average players anymore? Have I become the bad player?"

The matchmaking is basically screwed and if you're not a completely new COD player and would classify yourself as above average it will be miserable. It will only match you up with 10,000 hour Andy's with no variety of player skill within the lobbies. You will be the punching bag. The only benefit is that you can greatly improve your skill because you will mostly be playing against cream of the crop players.
