kept getting lost because i've got no sense of direction whatsoever. worth every penny, it's unironically a great remake.

the protagonist has no emotional intelligence whatsoever but is also wholesome, is incredibly hot and annoying. the story made me very sad. this ruined me 10/10 would read it again

i liked reading this. i think at the end of the true ending you get this sense of dread, the despair the protagonist felt during his life working as a detective, finding no sense of closure.
i really liked how the plot unrolls but.....
the h-scenes were way intense more than the tags make justice for. they are very, very explicit and unnecessary. they don't add anything to the story, really. the fact that this 30-something-year detective is anything but a friend to these underage girls is problematic and the h-scenes with them are plain disgusting. i had to sit my finger on the skip button because it was just a no-no.
other than that, the novel is good. just be aware of these points i mentioned about the h-scenes and very graphic description of murders and so on.

ended up buying Higurashi because of Umineko, and even though it's an earlier piece of work, it seems just as well written as Umineko. i'm loving it. the soundtrack is also awesome. worth every cent and recurrent nightmares about it.
just read it.

hands down best VN i've read so far. some patience is required at the beginning but it's so worth it. it's beautifully written, has one of the most amazing OST in VN's history and the graphics+voices patch is a plus. every character has so much depth and adds to the story somehow. it is full of incredibly strong women. it's just lovely, lovely!
