Early Access Review
When I first heard of "Layers of Fear" I was very sceptic. I thought it's gonna be next stupid game where there are monsters everywhere and you are just-a-little scared because they jump at you, not because it is really scary. But I was wrong, very wrong. "Layers of Fear" is one of greatest, scariest and most beautiful games I have ever played. Yeah, that's right, you've read it good. It's that good.

Let's start with "greatest" part: even though some of you say that it's "walking simulator" that game is great! You have to really think to get all the clues and to know everything. Everything is tied up and everything forms a perfect circle (if you know what I mean). You can find one thing at the beggining of the game that will change the way you look at it after you finish a few chapters because then you'll realize what it really meant!

How about "scariest" part? Yeah, it's scary, very scary. It has to be - it's a horror game but... it's different scary than other horror games, it's new-scary. It's not scary because there are many monster, it's scary because you think how one persons' brain can be damaged, how little we know of it and what tragedy can do to people - that's scary. You think and realize how little you know about life, about yourself and your brain. You feel that "Layers of Fear" is real. You feel it on many layers (maybe that's from where the title came?). You feel worried about your brain, your life; you feel worried about your in-game character; you feel worried because you don't know what's gonna happen next, where you gonna be; you feel worried because something may come up (yea, there are a few "ghosts" in this game). It's super-scary when you think about it a little and feel the game.

Okay, but how about beautiful? "I played many horror games and there are all the same!" you might say. You are wrong, they are not. This one is different. This one is not one of this "take source engine and make a few levels" game. You can feel that someone thought about it for a moment. That's beautiful - everything is tied up together and makes perfect sense (okay, not all the time but that's the beauty too!). Let's move from "script" part to programmic part - I don't know who coded that game but guys (girls?) - I want to meet You! It's so great coded that it runs perfectly smoothly even on a bit older machines (tested it on my laptop) and hell, you can't even see when something is changing. It's like nothings changed beacuse you couldn't see when it changed, not even a one-pixel move. I love that! Also, the design. Guys/girls that made the graphics - I want to meet You too! Thanks to you and programmers that games feels so real that sometimes I felt like I'm IN the game. Like I'm part of it. When I changed the graphics to the best quality I was in shock that graphics in games could be that good.

I've palyed this game already 4 times, one on mine account and a few on my friend's account but I know I'm gonna play it again, soon. I can't wait for more levels and I hope they are gonna be as good as those already in early-access. At the end I just wanna say big THANK YOU to whole team - writers, programmers, designers. It is the best game I played in a long while and even though it's a horror and I'm scared as ♥♥♥♥ everytime I play it (literally, I played that game 4 times and I was scared every-♥♥♥♥♥♥-time!). THANK YOU! GREAT JOB!
