This game is a shadow of Doom 2016. Combat is now treated like a rigid puzzle where you are expected to switch to a specific weapon for every single enemy type. Not to mention that when the game starts you can only carry something pitiful like 12 shotgun shells, which forces you to use your grenade and chainsaw gadgets every 2-3 enemies to replenish ammo. Doom 2016 combat feels like a flow state, and Eternal like a math equation.

Doom 2016 narrative and lore is a fairly straight forward affair, lot of environmental and codex storytelling but the actual plot isn't too complex. Eternal places more weight on the lore and narrative, but it isn't executed well enough to warrant paying attention much at all. Constantly changing locales with the coolest most metal environments you've ever seen but without any impact for why you're there or should care. There is a whole portion of the game dedicated to destroying a lab creating this big bad enemy that ends with a multi-stage boss fight. After completing this boss fight, it becomes just another normal enemy that you will see in every combat encounter for the rest of the game. The soundtrack has some great tracks on it, but its obvious that Mick was not given the same treatment that he got for crafting the Doom 2016 OST.

Looking back a few years later it is obvious that this game had a lot of promise but falls short to Doom 2016. I wouldn't even recommend picking it up, go play Doom 2016 or something else entirely.

Great puzzle game. Lots of mystique and scratched a similar itch to portal except without the physics.

This is the first real RPG I ever played. I love the ability to switch between characters when needed, pause combat, and dialog options that are more than the angel or ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ choices that plague newer Bioware games like Mass Effect. Carth is a little annoying at times, but other than that the writing and characters are excellent at showing the player a more unknown side of the Star Wars universe that doesn't involve the Skywalkers or Vader at any level. I hope that some day we get to experience more of this side of Star Wars with an actual Sith Empire and more complex societies like the Mandalorians.

The Witcher 3 is an incredible game on its own, but Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine bring the franchise to a satisfying conclusion. Heart of Stone is fine to play before you've completed the base game, but leave Blood and Wine until afterwards.

Apparently this game isn't for me. After trying many times I cannot complete the first race of the game. For how much I loved the rally sections in the Dirt games, I jumped at the opportunity of an entire game of rally races made by Codemasters. Happy to support the idea, but after so many attempts I've given up trying to even play the game.

Neon outrun aesthetic. Synthwave soundtrack. Super hard boss fights. If any of those things sound appealing to you, I recommend Furi. Not the longest game in the world or the deepest narrative, but its a great journey.

Not an amazing game compared to The New Order, but its more Wolfenstein as BJ which is a blast. Surprising amount of stealth options throughout. Character animations are actually pretty good with the characters actually using their whole body for expression, not just their faces. Make sure you google around for the stuttering fix, because it makes a huge difference and just need to create a couple folders in the %appdata% directory.

Spooky scary robots made by Frictional. I was more interested in the narrative than I was in the horror sequences, but otherwise gets a big thumbs up from me.
