The idea of the game is, that you have an infinite world, where you can make complex railways and beautiful stations. You can build these without money, but trains and wagons? For those, you need money. Money, which you get by completing tasks. Those are currently: transporting people or cargo.
So in short, the gameplay loop revolves around money.

Overall, I really enjoy this game. Of course, there are bugs. After all, it's early access. But most of the bugs that are in the game as of now shouldn't stop you from having fun.
