What I hate about many so-called RPGs nowadays is that most of them aren't really role-playing games, or only so to a certain degreee. You incarnate a character, yes, but in most cases there's no development, no lasting consequences to your actions, not even a meaningful way to remember what you have accomplished before.

Wildermyth, however, is a true RPG, where you'll see your party of characters slowly change, usually in unexpected, even undesirable, ways. They will grow old and retire, marry, have children, become rivals with some of their traveling companions. Each and everyone of their deeds will be recorded in their biography, and when your quest is over some of them will become, literally, the stuff of legend. Living legends, that is, since you will be able to recruit them again for future adventures.

This is so much more than a good turn-based tactical, procedural RPG. If you're into storytelling, if you like deep, unique, complex characters... this is definitely a game you need to at least try once.
