A charming game with a myriad of things to do. Micro-management of supplies, the thrill of hunting down for your poke... I mean fish index. Boss battles are actually a bit challenging and requires preparation, and there's not actually point of no returns. Make a mistake and miss a prime event, don't worry, like all things in life, you take it in stride. It makes you pressed for the urgency of an event, but if you get side tracked, no biggie.

The game allows you to make mistakes, live through some of those consequences and it all works out in the end. Dave is truly an aspiring diver who is lovable and goes through life, one pant leg at a time. Or for his case, one limb into a scuba suit at a time.

A pleasant take on the the recent hyped genre of bullet survivor/roguelike/smash.tv nostalgia.

You are given a slew of characters that start with a baseline ability, this eventually grows with the additions of boons that allow you to modify your base attack. The creativity comes from the unique godlike figures based on certain aspects that will enhance the playthrough.

Currently, there is only 1 boss that I was able to encounter at 20 minute mark, but the focus on acquiring gear with stats is a fantastic addition instead of focusing on leveling the base stats of a character. Depending on rarity, this will also enhance those stats and possible unique attributes that are on the items.

The game also has items generated throughout the map to keep it fresh as you wander around the endless map. Some skills and bonuses you acquire from them are fantastic and sometimes overpowered.

Some attributes will allow you to do as follows:

Use a special ability
Summon a creature
Acquire an additional dash...
and so on...

The voice acting and dialogue feels great, not imposing and there's a depth of urgency in the play. Definitely worth the price, and looking forward to it's completion. This definitely feels like an step up, and in the right direction for the genre.

-- Similar games to reference --

If you like Hades, this will be a similar feel as though you are in a gauntlet for 20 minutes trying to experiment and see what boons somehow merge and work together.

If you like Vampire Survivors, you'll be enthralled to see how the map can be uniquely help your character grow with passive abilities you can acquire from just moving around.

--- Only Con ---
I hope that a sorting system and chest system for each character comes in the future. It's a bummer that the inventory is shared and trying to farm armors gets too full, too quickly.

A fantastic game that allows you be in shock and awe at the lack of consistency little balls hitting some bumpers will do to you. You're given a few rocks and a shank at first then learn the ropes once you find your favorite types of weapons to use against opponents.

You like plinko? Well, this was that but more hilarious. I say if you're a fan of geometry and meticulously planning a route to play a rogue-lite, this is definitely the game for you.

A relaxing and nostalgic style auto shooter, from a glance has a lot of immediate familiarity to a game called Castlevania. It is unlike the metroidvania series in regards to platforming and it's rpg elements but contains a certain flair that is fading from our view with newer titles focused on graphic fidelity. The objective is simple, stay alive, level up, try not to get hit. You're going to get hit, it happens but don't be slow to react. You'll get into a lull once you get further ahead but if you need something to decompress, this is a game for you. You'll get fulfillment out of being able to eventually mow everything down and seeking out each of the objectives nicely put into your achievements category.

If you want something that can be relaxing and a joy to just see unfold, this is a game for you.

Taking the time to bounce in and out of the game. I wouldn't warrant this as a standard for learning the language. You can tell that the people who worked on this game, are passionate about how they wanted to allow players easy accessibility to learning the basics of a language.

For this, I would like to say, you have done a wonderful job at a very easy to understand game. I am looking forward to playing more of these types of games.

As someone learning the language from the Genki books, this was a breath of fresh air to apply what I learned into somewhat a realistic situation.

If you are learning japanese and don't know where to start, I can't say it's the most optimal, but for someone who has a bit of knowledge and wants to put some of it into use or need a refresher, this is an excellent memory jog. I recommend this for anyone who is entry-level into japanese. Make sure you have some pen, paper, and a self driving nature to push through this game.

Taking a moment to enjoy this game. Let me tell you that this is by far the most fluid metroidvania I have ever played.

Besides the fact that the game is ambient, the tones from the sound track echo through you as you stroll through the rogue-like created environment. You come across reactive opponents that teach you the mechanics of the game from start to finish.

There isn't story, so don't go into this thinking you're going in for the feels, but if you want to take a moment and challenge yourself to racing through the game, this is you for.

Weapons:
Weapons are fulfilling and once you find your niche, be it melee or ranged, you are rewarded with precise movement and wholesome feeling when using it. I for one have never felt a game with as much weight in some of the weapons since Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. If you want heavy weapons, look no further, the broadsword is your weapon of choice. Or maybe a mallet that causes you to interrupt your opponent.

The myriad of designs placed into this game makes it appealing for everyone. (Even some pay homage to the classics, valmont's whip anyone?)

Ranged weapons/spells/items are fantastically composed to allow a player to play cautiously or enjoy the suffering of others to fulfill your sadistic tendancies. Freezing, fire, poison, and bleeding your opponents. They have an ailment for each of your desired pains to inflict with the perfect weapon to meet your demands.

Now that i've finished gushing, take a moment to enjoy it as well. You may want to speed run these maps, but enjoy it. To remind you, this is a Rogue Dungeon game.

May RNG and your skills be on your side.
