Bought the game and haven't been able to play ever since. Connection to the server has been lost. Turns out this seems to be an issue for quite a few days now and none of the fixes out there seem to work. No statement from Ubisoft either. Very dissatisfied, cannot recommended buying.

Update #1: The issues were resolved by Ubisoft and I was now able to play for a couple of days without any connection problems. The game is actually fun and much like the previous Anno 1404, with a different (future) setting and various additions to the game play like factions, undersea productions and units, eco and energy balance.

However, still worrying what happens if someday Ubisoft decides to not fix server issues anymore or simply shut the servers down. as the game is now heavily integrated with online services. Not just for DRM but also for stuff like regular elections with effects on economy etc., online profile and career and more.
