Imagine Sniper Elite: Zombie Army Trilogy but the smgs don't suck ass and the movement is way better.

That, in an over simplified way, is what this game is. Couple that with amazing visuals, fantastic sound design (Honestly most of the guns in this game sound amazing to shoot) and with friends this game is something you can sink hours into.

With a campaign and score attack, plus 7 horde maps which have 5 rounds with each round containing 15 waves, with each round taking about an hour to complete giving you 35+ hours of gameplay in horde mode alone. Plus its not just a shooter survival horde, there is a puzzle in each map which will unlock runes and a powerful weapon to help with the larger champion enemies in later waves. These puzzles are challenging without being cheap or hair rippling complicated and are also randomized, meaning whilst the online walkthroughs help its up to you to use a little brain power to solve them.

Overall its a solid game with very few downsides. My only gripes are the fact runes cant be passed from player to player when picked up means that more often than not, long time players of the game join the match with new people and know where all the rune boxes are and collect them all. This leaves them with very powerful weapons and the newbies with pea shooters for the rest of the rounds. Plus its easy to get stuck mid roll in some areas of the map, meaning death from enemies or even glitching into the map and dying.

This is a game for film lovers and those who love stories that leave generous room for interpretation & theories. If you're looking for a game in the traditional sense then this is not for you due to a lack of interactivity, however if a well constructed "film" with a thought provoking story and the immersion that games provide sound like a dream come true then this is a great game for you. Its on sale often and I would recommend you pick it up then however for £6.99 its still not badly priced (besides the short playtime compared to other "walking sims"). Numercially I would probably give this game a 7/10 (based on enjoyment alone).

If you haven't already noticed cry of fear is a psychological horror FPS based off of the Half-life 1 engine. It has quite impressive visuals for a game running on the Gold Source engine. Its single player has a rich immersive storyline, nothing to new, but it will still draw you in none the less. Its voice acting is pretty decent and the ambiance creates a good setting. Beyond the Dodging and stamina features cry of fear plays like your average shooter; point your gun at enemy, shoot said enemy until dead, repeat on most enemies. The recoil on most guns seem realistic for a young man in the city however certain weapons are much more stable to fire from the hip which kind of makes me question who in Team Psykskallar thought a shotgun would recoil less than your standard handgun? The difficulties offers nothing more than an increase in enemy damage and enemy health respective to the difficulty chosen, meaning that after one play through, the game offers little change to the higher difficulties. The jump scares, whilst scary the first few times, lose their horror factor as you become more conditioned however there are enough jump scares in the game to keep your pants brown. The additional custom campaigns allow you to extend your solo experience however only some are worth a try.

When it comes to the multiplayer Team Psykskallar have yet to fix it, and most likely aren’t. Seems that the use of Hamachi or Point forwarding is the only way you and your friends can Work and survive together. The co-op is fantastic, it’s always fun to leave your friend to fight the enemies as you laugh at their cries for help. Also the Suicide maps provide a fun but short lived extension to the multiplayer modes as they allow you to survive against waves of enemies until the timer runs out. The Initial and Manhunt co-op campaigns are both entertaining but beyond them there are virtually no additional maps either by Team Psykskallar or the community itself.

Overall 7/10. Good horror fps, great for mucking about with a few mates.
