This game taught me that fruit can help you live longer. Who knew?

Plot is interesting enough to keep you going. Very good renders and animations spread throughout. The fact that all the characters (other than you) are voiced in english is a huge plus for me. All-in-all, a fun little season one. My only complaint is that the body types of many of the women are a bit too . . . voluptuous. There's not as much variety in that regard. Still, what is there is very well done and it's honestly a nit-picky complaint on my end.

For the record, I'm pursuing a harem-type ending from the get-go (I usually pick one girl the time through in these games and stay faithful . . . ish) and it's well executed thus far. There hasn't been any over the top drama or roadblocks to prevent you from doing it this way, and I appreciate that.

I've quickly managed to pump a bunch of hours into an early access game. This, in and of itself, doesn't seem like that big of a deal - and for many people, it likely isn't. For me, though - it simply . . . is.

I tend to shy away from EA games, or at the very least piddle around with them for a few hours and then shelve them until they get more gameplay. I'm not one to play a game for hundreds of hours, and then do it all again every time there;s a major update. But, with Palworld, I got . . . hooked. I don't play survival games. I don't really play creature collection games. I don't play (many) crafting games. I enjoy Sun Haven and Stardew Valley for farming games, so I thought that aspect alone might get me going awhile.

It's here the game "got me". The game is in EA so it's janky. Pals pathing is terrible and you have to constantly monitor them getting stuck in walls, or refusing to climb stairs. I have crashes when I exit to the main menu and try to go back in. The AI enemies will take off running - straight into a wall. There's not a lot of variety for crafting and farming in it's current state, but what IS there is addictive and fun and it gives me that "Lemme just do this one thing before I log off" and then I wind up playing for another 90 minutes. And that right there is why I say, yes . . . I recommend it.

Recently, I've been really itching to play a good (but casual) building and management game. Nothing too punishing, but something I can relax and just kind of . . . go with the flow. I'm not a huge fan of time limits in games, so this seemed up my alley. You make a shop, unlock more stuff, and expand. Simple enough.

But therein lies the problem. It's a bit *too* simplistic. Basic things like decorations have no bearing on whether or not shoppers have a good experience and limited options even if you wanted to do it for fun, make this a little on the bland side. It actually plays much more like an idle game with very mild building elements.

My intent when I bought this was a bit of a "filler" VN - just something to pass a bit of time when I wasn't sure what else to play. Instead, I played only this and ugly cried more than once because Cece.

I loved all the characters - even the goofy "best friend" (who I generally can't stand). You know I'm all in when I'm halfway through and already planning what my next route is going to be.

Also, Kevin best girl. You heard me.

The English translation is pretty terrible, but also somewhat amusing (I kept trying to figure out who the heck Katie was - her name is Cathy) and the H scenes are brief and kind of meh. But it has cards and achievements (if those matter to you). It was entertaining enough for about an hour to do both branches (there's only 1 choice that seems to mater and the game warns you). .Definitely only get it on a deep discount.

Still early in the game/story, but the mechanics are pretty fun. The races can get a bit tedious, as that's essentially all you really do, but they're fun in bursts.

Others have stated the same issues buuuuuuuut . . . wtf is up with Nitrous not actually helping you boost away from people?

And the cop chases. Oi vey. They can be entertaining at times and super frustrating at others. Patrol cars passing me doing 155 or better seems a bit silly. Even at lower heat levels they stick on you pretty hard.

A Little Lily Princess is lite on the Yuri, heavy on the drama and heartstring-tugging, and just right in the time-spent department.

The story follows young Sara as she leaves her father in India to become a "proper English girl" at a school in London. There are ups and most certainly downs along the way. The common route is all about Sara, but the individual routes focus on the different girls/women that Sara meets while there and the relationships that develop.

If you're looking for deep yuri, this isn't it. While there are 6 routes you can take, only a few focus more on the romance side; the rest tend to be about familial love and bonds that form between the girls.

While I whole-heartedly recommend this VN, I wasn't a fan of the "gameplay" where you must accumulate specific stats to reveal individual scenes with your chosen girl(s). It all felt a bit random and unecessary. I can understand the point in doing so, but if I became "blocked" due to bad luck with the RNG, I felt compelled to save scum and reload until I got what I needed.

Also, the "payoff" felt more satisfying in certain routes; but that could simply be because I felt more personally attached to those characters.

All-in-all, time well spent, and for once I ACTUALLY read all 6 routes. Well, I skimmed Lottie a little.

So, yet another Sakura title filled with gratuitous shiny boob shots, strange girl on girl groping, and lots of sexy talk for a bunch of people who haven't even had their first kiss yet. So what sets this one apart? Is there anything, really? Surprisingly, yes.

In typical Sakura fashion, you have the option to pursue multiple girls. While Sakura Santa is short (even by Sakura standards), You do get a few options/choices this go round. There's the lewd fox spirit, your childhood friend, and Santa herself.

Each route was cute in it's own way. One is a bit lewd still, but the others were more heart warming than I expected. Don't get me wrong, the game is still chock full of the weird, clumsy girls tripping and exposing panties and breasts and whatnot that we all know and love. Yet this time, I actually found myself wanting to see how things ended with the different girls. Maybe it's because the focus is Christmas, but this title seemed a little less . . . over-the-top.

That said, there's still a harem ending and plentiful CGs. Most are a little risque to where you don't want your family to see, but typically the "ending" CGs were more cutey than booty.

So . . . where to begin, where to begin. No, I don't recommend this game is the short answer.

A Wild Catgirl Appears is a (very) short, yuri VN. I suppose. One girl is a catgirl. Well, 2 are. They are female, though, so I guess that still makes it yuri, right? I mean, you play as a female human. A redhead apparently. But you're Japanese? It's unclear. And that's where the issues started for me.

The character sprites are pretty to look at, for sure. Starla and Ria especially are attractive. There aren't many expressions for them, though and it all feels a little . . . unfinished. Plus, the sprites are actually much better looking than the CGs. On their own, the CGs are fine but I was honestly expecting more . . . just "more" I guess. More detail? More realism? Not sure how to truly describe it. They simply came across as less polished to me.

Artwork aside, I would normally still recommend a VN like this, but the story itself was bland and mix-matched. Sure, there's the whole "staying in the closet" and social stigma with coming out as gay. That works. Then there's the "cat girl created in a video game comes to life". Okay . . . I guess. Oh, and "I'm in love with my best friend". Sure . . . I think . . .

There was simply too much going on. Perhaps it was all a bit too ambitious for one VN, especially one that was finished in about an hour. I had many many many questions when it was over. Things were sort of mentioned in passing then forgotten about (like the fact that these catgirls say they're from another dimension? Huh?) and I found myself simply ready for it to end.

So, long story short, I'd say stay clear - though I am curious to see where this author goes in the future. There's promise there, it just wasn't realized. Yet.
