The team aspect of this game is good.BUT! It's a hard game to play if you have no sense on how to use the card system. I'd advice anyone thinking of jumping in on this game to start at the lowest difficultly, and learn how cards can improve your gameplay and help with difficulty. This game is BRUTAL on nightmare, so make sure you have an ideal deck for your style of play and character. Also bring friends! Random people is a real crapshoot right now, players jump into games without knowing how the game works and ruin it for others.

Once you've unlocked all your cards, the game gets interesting. I understand not everyone wants to spend time figuring out a deck. So if deck building isn't your thing, I think you should pass.

Game is fun with friends, so I recommend it on that alone, but I understand there are other co-op games these days, but give it a try when it goes on sale, you might just enjoy the card system Turtle Rock Studios has implemented.

p.s. game has a story and some world building, it's fun listening to the characters talk to each other, similar in style to the Left 4 Dead series. Considering it's some of the same devs, it makes sense.

edit: November 2023 update, player count has dropped a bit, but if you're willing to cross-play with console players, it's still a fun game to play, and with one of the final updates being offline play, you can just play the story mode on your own without real players.

After so many years, this game continues to impress. I always come back to it when I need some good co-op. I still have to deal with randoms joining games and killing the whole group, so be aware of that when co-oping on your own. Better yet, play with friends and avoid it all together.

9/10, I'll be back!

If you grew up playing the Genesis as a kid, and you don't want to deal with connecting the old console to a modern HDTV. This is a very good alternative, emulation is pretty good from the few games I've played, so no complaints there. Like most have pointed out, the sound isn't as good as the original model 1, but good enough where most won't even notice.

Overall I recommend this collection. Even more when it goes on sale.

I've only played about 10 hours so far, and I'm enjoying it. The hardest difficulty is the most fun for me, no hand holding, lots of restarts and retries figuring out proper jumps and routes, it just feels right to me. For most, the high difficulty could be a real turn off and not worth the effort. Nothing wrong with playing on Normal, but if it's a challenge you're looking for, go for the Deadly Obsession difficulty.

New game + is also nice to see once the game is completed. It gives you a chance to re-play the game with all the items and experience from the first playthrough.

It's on sale, so if you decided to wait, now's a good time, especially with the Definitive Edition out, which has bundled all the DLC and extras into the main game.

Better game than the first, and plenty of content after the main campaign is finished. If you're a stealth player that likes to explore and avoid detection, this game is one of the best at it. Want to rush in and finish quickly to get to the extra content? You can do that as well.

The the extra content/DLC adds a handfull of hours to keep you busy, so it's worth checking out if you liked the main game.

Solid game, and good support from devs, it's pretty rare these days, so it's nice seeing patches and new things being added long after the game has been released. I know some of that is because of the season pass, but I think it's worth the investment either way.

Game is on par, if not better than the first. I can't wait for the 3rd installment.
