I played a bunch of this on a friend's PSVR and have been waiting for the past year for WindowsMR/OpenVR/Vive/Index support to play it on my Odyssey+. I'm happy to report that as of the Nov2019 betas, I can melt my face off in this beauty all day long. It was well worth of money, and I'm thankful for the devs that ported the game over to other headsets.

If you own a VR headset, this is a must own game that bucks the trends of the standard shooting galleries and small experiments that permeate the platform. It's a one of a kind, trippy, trance-infused, retro arcade experience that just keeps calling you back for more.

Thanks, Llamasoft!

Really enjoyed this much more than the first game. I think the puzzles wore me a bit thin in the original, and this has streamlined them for the better. Also, the writing and atmosphere were really impressive... While not groundbreaking by any accounts, they are drastically improved, and the environments, design, acting, and subtext were all great. It is an absolutely great experience from start to finish and I am now firmly entrenched in this series. Kudos.

awesome puzzle game, shades of portal that is not as irreverant (but the puzzles are better).

A fun and cohesive little group of experiences if you like Justin Roiland's sense of humor. A bit short, but I appreciate the brevity to be honest.

I was a huge fan of the original REZ on Dreamcast, and have been a fan of Mizuguchi's more trippy work going back years now. The remastered game is a solid representation of the first, but Area X in VR is where this game absolutely shines. The music is great, the visual effects are beautiful, and the controls, while simple, are tight. This is still the best VR experience in my mind, and my only knock is that I wish it was longer, and there was even more diversity in the Area X stuff.

I am praying that the Tetris Effect comes to PC soon and hope that Enhance Games keeps doing what they do.

A really fun game with solid mechanics and tough puzzles. The story is a bit meh, but I appreciated that it was there. Give it a shot if you dig the early MGS games or VR missions.

Early Access Review
This scratched my Star Fox itch that came over me recently. Gameplay is great, and the the campaign has been super fun and intuitive thus far.

My favorite game of all time. I dumped ~150 hours on my PS4 prior to buying the Definitive Experience on Steam, and then promptly dumping ~500 hours into that. Some detractors will fault the story, though I feel differently. The voice acting is phenomenal, the visuals are gorgeous, the gameplay is addicting, and the story... It's completely Kojima, it's completely Metal Gear, it's completely gripping, and it's completely amazing. It fits the greater MG universe well enough, and it adds to the lore in a way that fixed a huge plot hole from 30 years ago. The folks that complain about the game, though some criticisms are not without merit, are typically missing the greater thematic point of this game. A straight forward tale of revenge and how once your have that pain from losing something or anything that is important to you, it will never ever subside completely, even after the goal of revenge is complete. The void from that loss, and subsequent drive for blood, can drive a man to insanity. The parallels to Moby ♥♥♥♥ are undeniable (and sometimes a bit heavy handed), but they fit. I once read some column from the NYT where an art critic said that games won't be considered "art" until the medium can cause the player to experience a range of emotions other than what is expected (typically triumph or similar), but they can still appreciate that experience. I read that years ago, and once I finished this game, I immediately remembered it. Kojima is a true auteur, and even though a part of me is sad that at how Konami swept him and his team out, I am deeply appreciative at the works and universe he created in Metal Gear. This is his swan song, and the ultimate "thank you" to the fans, and I would argue, maybe one of the best games of all time.

This game, when paired with The Phantom Pain (TPP), is probably my favorite game of all time. The problem is when it isn't played with TPP, and if you buy GZ looking for a fulfilling experience. It just isn't there in that sense. But again, as an entire package, the gameplay is wonderful, the story is amazing, the visuals are incredible, and the PC port is exceptionally well done.
