So, Big fan of LBA. Played the original and was super excited about this remake... And I couldn't be more disappointed with the outcome. I played the Demo and had my concerns, but I believed they could deliver something good (even with all the feedback provided by the community) and it feels like a flop. I finished the main story and will probably try to get all the achievements. I'll try to outline the pros/cons of the game from my point of view.

PROS:

- The visuals/graphics is a nice improvement from the original. I'm not the biggest fan of the aesthetics but it kind of fits here. It feels fresh and nice.
- The music is a plus for me.
- Overall I love the character design and how the levels were tailored (e.g. FunFrock's design is awesome!)

CONS:

- Same as in the Demo, I don't understand why you put Luna there. The story makes 0 sense with her in it. And it feels like she's annoying/super childish.
- Regarding the story: in the original game Twinsen was imprisoned due to his dreams/visions regarding Sendell... Here he lets FunFrock do his thing, take power, zoe leaves him and he doesn't seem to care at all. He gets arrested only when Luna breaks "the law" by playing the basketball. Again, nonsense. It tries to make the situation less darker than it should be.
- The "magic" ball has the worst physics I've ever seen. It does whatever the heck it wants, if you right-click mid air it resets the throw.. that mechanic feels awful.
- The combat... face an enemy wrongly/let them shot you a bit and you get stunlocked and die.
- Hitboxes are terrible, you may be hitting with the sword or the ball and it doesn't register it correctly.
- The AI pathing... is awful. I had Zoe get stuck in Citadel Island's bridge in the prologue, and the enemy AI is just non-existant. You can literally run through the levels and no one bats an eye.
- Why,. for the love of Sendell, you had to remove the sneak from the game?
- Also, when Twinsen stops running/walking it just T-poses for a brief moment.. there's no stop animation and it feels awful.
- Twinsen-Zoe chemistry is non-existant. How will it be linked on the 2nd game?
- Why can't we drive the tank...
- I found myself jumping in random places and got to "break" the game by getting softlocked in some corners...
- When you exit a building, ALL doors are open and they close at the same time.
- If you talk to a character while rolling/jumping (and even normally) it messes up the audio.
- For whatever reason the dialogues didn't match the text properly.
- There's a sign in Principal Island that has no text in it (It's just blank).
- The list goes on...

I really, really, really hope they can address SOME of the issues and make the game a bit better. If that happens I'll change my review, but as of now I cannot recommend the game for its full price.

I'm gonna recommend the game because it's a nice remake of LBA. I found some good things and some bad ones but overall the game is awesome.

- The Graphics: the screenshots talk by themselves, but the improvement on the graphics is massive. There're some things to tweak here and there but the care and love for the game are present. It's really nice to see and it feels smooth when going through the map.
- Music: It's SUBLIME. Having played the original ones, I didn't expect the music to be this good.
- Dialogues: On point. Twinsen's voice is 10/10. Maybe I'm too picky but FunkFrock's voice doesn't seem TOO evil to me.
- Movement/Combat: It has some things to fix but it's really good. I love they changed the 4 states (normal, sporty, aggressive and discreet) and remade it the way they did. But for me, not being able to sneak through (tiptoe, be discreet) felt like a bad decision. The discreet mode was used A LOT in the originals, e.g: the interaction with Sendell's ball when being thrown. Also, found some glitches when kicking/punching, it was not registering correctly even with the enemies in front of me (again, it's a demo and they need to fix/polish things.
- On to the story: I understand that you wanted to change Zoe for something else. But a sister? I'm not so sure how that would be linked on LBA2 (the whole aliens, twinsen living with zoe, expecting a baby, etc). In the original game, Twinsen was put in the asylum due to his dreams/prophecies about Sendell... and now it's changed to saving his sister from the bad guys. I have to say, I'm not convinced on this angle, but will play it with an open mind when it releases.

The one thing I HATE/despise is the ball having the trace where it will bounce/go. It feels "too easy" to know where the ball is going to go instead of having to figure it out like in the old days (Maybe put it as an option that could be disabled?).

With all that said, right now the game is awesome with some personal/subjective things that I feel are not faithful to the original game.

P.S: If Luna replaces Zoe in the plot, will we get bamboozled with a Luna clone like in the original game? How will the Sendell-conquer the world play here with FunFrock

Played the demo (backer here), and it was amazing... The Final game is... beautiful. The art, the music, the gameplay.... up until this point I have no concerns about this game rather than... WHY WASN'T IT RELEASED EARLIER :(

After completing the game 100% here's my review:

Pros:

- Chill to play
- Not so difficult
- Relaxing
- Upgrade tree

Cons:

- Buggy as hell. There's been some levels where the bubbles randomly exploded and the level was finished instantly (yes, it works in your favour but come on; it takes away any difficulty it may have...).
- Same levels but larger every time. The addition of new colors only give some iteration to the levels but that's it. Same mechanics and difficulty.
- Yellow and Orange bubbles can be easily mistaken. Happened to me and I'm not colorblind.
- The music. OH GOD THE MUSIC. I had to play this game muted because its music is ANNOYING. 1 track all game long through 250 levels. It would make anyone insane...
- Powers are OK but there are not enough levels to get points for EVERY upgrade. So you need to choose "wisely".

Would I recommend it for a 100% completition? If you like your sanity, don't do it.

But for 0,90€ you can buy it and chill a bit with it. That way it's somehow worth it.

It's like Skyrim, but it's actually a good game.

It's ok. Plain and simple. "ok".

After playing To the Moon, and shedding some tears throughout the gameplay, I instabought A bird Story hoping for another masterpiece and ended up a little bit disapointed...

Don't take me wrong, I loved the game, the soundtrack, the effects, the story. But still, don't expect a -To the moon like- quality.

Fair price for 1h~ of gameplay. Gz to the devs.

Of course I'd recommend the new Russian-Spanish-Southamerican-Polish training simulator made by Valve! Where you'll meet people from any country except yours!
