I made it all the way to the end of the game with all of the collectibles, and whenever I try to build the hot air balloon my PC breaks. I don't know whether it's because I released all of the flies near the tree, but I can't finish the game because of this. My screen just goes white and even task manager doesn't work. I need to restart my computer entirely every time this happens.

I've played a lot of rouge-likes in my day. Usually, when i play I'll see some sort of progress such as getting to another area or unlocking new items. Not here. I consistently get stuck and die early before I can move anywhere because this game likes to throw a large amount of BS at you. Stuff like an open room crammed pack full of enemies that takes only two hits to kill you (health is worthless in this game), explosions that will instantly kill you and putting those explosions in ammo crates, stray and erratic bullet patterns that hit you behind cover and a one-hit death achievement to top it all off. While most rouge-likes are hard, this one is just bad.

This game made me cry and want to make my life better. On the surface, it may seem like a horror story disguised as a dating sim, but underneath its many disguises, it's more than that. It provides a compelling commentary about love and the dangers of getting lost in a world not meant for you. for Monika, it was reality. For the player, it's the literature club. This game made me realize just how lonely I was and how much I want that to change. I know that it's all just a game, even if the writing makes it seem otherwise, but I really felt like all the girls were real, talking to me, and loved me. I will never love them the way that they are written to love me, but I can take what I have learned, and apply it to my reality. This game made me want to make friends, care about myself, and find my own love. It'll be hard, but this game finally made me truly ready for it. Thank you Team Salvato and everyone involved in the process. To Natsuki, Yuri, Sayori, and Monika, Thanks for everything. I love you all.

Incredible game with incredible developers. There is so much soul in this game that it blasts most of it's competition out of the water. That souls translates to the gameplay itself with a massively fun horde-shooter with a friendly community to match. Ghost Ship Games really made something special and I can't help but revisit it again and again.

ROCK! AND! STONE!

This is my second favorite game, only surpassed by Paper Mario: TTYD because of how much that game means to me. By all accounts, this game is superior in design. From the stunning graphics to the expertly crafted world, both in game play and story/lore, it really doesn't get better than this. This game took a genre I usually hate and made it one of the best adventures I've ever had in a game. I've bought this game multiple times over multiple consoles and would gladly do it all over again. Silksong can't come soon enough.

All I need to say is that this game scratched a huge itch I've had for a new, good Paper Mario game.

An all-time classic. Plant V.S. Zombies was my childhood and it was a blast revisiting it as an adult.

When I got Afterbirth, I thought that it was a great expansion pack. New bosses, new items, more endings, it had it all. I absoulutely adore that expansion pack for the soul reason of giving the Lost the holy mantle! Then when I heard about Afterbirth+, I was once again excited. The addition of mod support is a great idea which should have been added in the original expansion. Sadly, however, this expansion came out a FULL YEAR after I first heard of it, causing some of the hype to die down. Not only that but when I DID get the expansion pack, I quickly realized something.

It's terrible.

A large majority of the mod is just what Afterbirth installed, but everything is RESKINED! A lot of the items, bosses, enemies, and even FLOORS that were added into Afterbirth+ have all been recycled from Rebirth or Afterbirth. One of the bosses (the vis sisters) is just two Cage sprites with heads on them! While some may say that it's supposed to be like the actual enemies in the games the boss is based off of (which is also known as the vis), I would at least expect a new model for the sprite. Instead, It's just the Cage, with a head, with almost no connection between the body and the head.

The new modes are also TERRIBLE! Ask me this, who wanted a harder Greed mode? I'm sure some of you who play this game do, and admittedly, I did too. But to give the final boss, a boss who's resistance scales to match your damage, a SENCOND FORM turns the hard TO THE IMPOSSIBLE! It was already hard enough beating this guy as the Lost, now I have to do it AGAIN, WITH A HARDER MODE?!?

That's another aspect that annoys me, the new achievements. While this also happened with Afterbirth, the changes they made to the game kept getting the achievements fair and well ballanced. Afterbirth+ however, made changes to the game that increase the games difficulty that make the game UNPLAYABLE. These changes include the Ultra Hard Challange, new rooms that can mess a player up, Having to beat hush to access the new final boss, AND THOSE STUPID PORTALS!!! This can careen the game from hard, to UNPLAYABLE!

*huff* *puff* While there is a lot of bad in this expansion, there is still good to be found. The modding I mentioned previously, Is still a great idea, even if it doesn't allow modmakers to add new enemies, bosses, or floors.....
There's also the new challenges. While I did bash on ultra hard, the other challenges provide a unique and fun spin on the binding of Isaac game (I can't wait to play through the April Fools challenge). And finally, there's the beastiary. While it is a small thing, I did hate how thay took out the enemies name in the credits in Rebirth, so the addition of a beastiary was a cool idea.

However, the rest of the content that Afterbirth+ added is too bad to outweigh the good in this game. This game, which I once used to play for hours and hours on end, until I got the 1001% achievement, has now been turned into impossible, unplayable, lazy, sloppy mess. I really don't want to write a bad review Afterbirth+ (especially a review that could be turned in for one of my school essays), but I had no choice. The content that the developeres decided to add made one of my favorite games of all time become a shell of it's former self (kind of sounds like what Team Fortress 2 went through).

I'm sorry if this reviw sounded immature or cruel, but that's because I love this game, dearly. I've spent so much time into this game, that I could categorize it into one of my most played games of all time. I will continue to play this game now and far after until I get all of the Afterbirth+ achievements. But right now, I'm saddened by what's happened to this game.

*Author's note: When I first made this review, I said that the workshop couldn't add certain aspects including bosses, floors, items, and much more was implied. This was due to the fact that not a lot of content was released for the workshop, however it was my fault for not checking the workshop thoroughly for what it could provide for the game.*

I felt obligated to write this review since I cleared everything in this game, but then again what can I say? Everyone else said everything that I could say.
-Well developed characters
-Amazing soundtrack
-A plethora of different endings (but most are a part of 1 group of ending)
-Secrets
-An amazing story
Everything. Theres nothing that I can say about this game that I could say was awsome and someone else has already said it. It's crazy isn't it? How a game so simple can be so loved if time and effort are put into the project. Truly, this is a gem of a game that I know that I'll revisit again and again. Wether it's in the fanbase, or the actual game, this is one game won't soon forget. And now, with that out of the way, I'm going to Grillby's.
