The core of the game is incredibly fun. However, the load times, unstable connection, non-stop grinding, ridiculous monetization and backwards stance on harmless offline/singleplayer modding, makes it hard to recommend.

Incredibly atmospheric game, with amazing visuals for its time. The gameplay is enjoyable and there aren't any major flaws. It is also refreshingly difficult, but not in an "unfair" way, if played at a fitting difficulty (I recommend Ranger Easy, since Ranger Hard was very challenging). There were some enjoyable mechanics put into the game, such as having to manually charge your battery, change filters on your mask, and the ins and outs of the various weapons. It made every weapon feel unique, and not just the same thing with a slightly louder bang. The story is in no way mindblowing, but it fits the enviroment and the mood of the game, and makes for some interesting experiences every now and then. It does, however, not hold an amazing amount of replayability, as it is a fairly linear story.
TL;DR: Good game, would recommend.
